Heeerrrreeesss Acey! Once again I bring you, from the dark depths of my mind, Story Ideas I Want To Write But Don't At The Moment Have Time For! (title is a work in progress)
Scootaloo, and The Mares of Tomorrow (again, title WIP)
Just as victory seems assured, Tirek manages to cast one last curse. As the Rainbow of Harmony washes over him, he reveals that he has captured both Spike and the CMC, and taunt the Mane Six as he hurls them through a mysterious portal. He than is sent back to Tartarus, where he transports both himself and the three princesses to a secret corner of that prison. There, he uses the captive Celestia, Luna, and Cadance as living batteries, slowly siphoning off whatever magic they regain over time to increase his own strength.
50 years later, Equestria has fragmented. Initially, Twilight had attempted to rule the nation as the last remaining alicorn, while coordinating with Shining Armor, the Royal Solar, Lunar, and Crystal Guards and her friends to search the planet for the missing princesses. Five years later the noble houses of Canterlot passed a vote of no confidence in the inexperienced princess and her Counsel of Friendship, breaking the once united nation into rival city states that continuously hover on the brink of war. Twilight and Co. have managed to keep Ponyville and the Everfree Forest free of the nobles through a mixture of diplomacy and intimidation. When the nobles rebelled, most of the Solar guard were convinced to join them, forcing Shining Armor to withdraw to the Crystal Empire to prevent it's annexation. Those of the Solar Guard who remained loyal to Twilight, alongside nearly the entire Lunar Guard withdrew to Ponyville and began preparations to defend the province against the noble's aggression, culminating in a short-lived conflict that ended when reinforcements from Appleloosa and Cloudsdale arrived and declared an alliance with Twilight.
45 years of uneasy peace followed, with Twilight and her friends (made ageless due to their exposure to the Elements of Harmony and Rainbow Powers) attempting to negotiate a reunification with the nobles using the fertile farmlands surrounding Ponyville as a bargaining chip. In the meantime, a system of trade has sprung up between the city-states, utilizing massive zeppelins to cross borders closed to train or wagon transport. In the wake of this development, various gangs of air-pirates (many funded secretly by the nobles) haunt the trade routes, utilizing (relatively) faster airships armed with cannon to plunder and/or destroy the trade-ships. The Royal Ponyville Guard is stretched thin, trying to defend both Ponyville and escort the trade-ships. It is during one especially brazen raid, attacking Ponyville itself, that help from an unexpected source arrives. Three aircraft, faster and more maneuverable than the lighter-than-air warships the brigands use, appear from over the Everfree and make short work of the attacking force, before vanishing just as suddenly as they appeared. In the aftermath of the attack and subsequent victory, the Mane Six find themselves realizing there was something very familiar about the pilots of the mysterious aircraft, and that insignia painted on the tails...?
