Top ten animes. (That I have watched.) · 8:39pm Aug 11th, 2015
Well, I promised to do this, and I'll keep my word. Keep in mind that these are my top favorite. So be mature.
Number 10
Attach on Titan.
Please put the pitchforks and torches down, and hear me out. Don't get me wrong, the drama and ongoing character interactions were great. The thing is that I felt that something about this anime just seemed missing, and It kept me from emersing myself into the world that this was trying to convey.
Number nine
Sailor Moon (Japanese)
This is the kind of anime that I should have watched in Japanese first. I dislike the American version because it basically made it clear that the average viewer was too sensitive to see a gay couple, or a slightly erotic transformation scene. When I watched the Japanese version, I kept getting angry at the show, thus taking some of my enjoyment from them.
Sailors Neptune and Uranus: We're cousins.
Me: NOPE!
Number Eight
Fairy Tail
This anime had a little bit of everything that I like in an anime. Good characters. check. Good visuals and effects. check. Good mix of serious and bad ass moments. check. It also had a rather unique sound track to it that you wouldn't expect in an anime. This would be classified as good in my book.
Number seven
Dragon Ball Z (English Dub)
This was an epic gateway anime. It had great fight scenes and that intro could get anyone's blood pumping. It had it's mixture of serious and comedic moments. Also, does anyone else think that Piccolo is a better father than Goku.
Number six
Hellsing Ultimate.
This is the very definition of badass-ness incarnate. It is incredibly epic and gory. But what got me the most were the investment to the characters. I actually cried when this scene happened. [youtube=aPQVCJTbaNg] The next five were difficult to place, put I think that I did a good job.
Number five.
One Piece.
This is an anime that screams chaos. It is grand, wacky, over the top, and I love it. You can never expect things to be boring when the Straw hat crew is near. It also has more friendship based episodes than the FIM.
Number four
Fullmetal Alchemist.
This anime did all of the things that Fairytail did for me, but did them much better. The ending to this was bittersweet, but still enjoyable.
Number Three
Avatar the last airbender.
Technically, this was not made in Japan. but fuck it! This is an anime through and through. It has great characters with even better personalities. Each character has more than a few moments to shine and I respect this western anime.
Number Two
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
If you saw my latest chapter to my fanfic, then this would be kind of predictable. Even so, this anime was perfect in a ton of respects. Rising above it's predecessor and capable of standing on it's own two feet. What can beat perfection, you ask? Well, the answer might shock you.
Number one
Cowboy Bebop
This anime is not the most epic, or the most badass, or even the deepest when it comes to characters. Hell, I even found Ed to be quite annoying. Why does it take the crown though? Simple, it is the feeling that you get while watching this. It is the simple feeling that you are in for something good, and it will still be good when you look back on it. It is the strait man to all of these other anime's. It is bland when compared to the other animes, yet it is still able to rise out of it's limits and stick with you. It is not an anime that wants attention, it is one that wants and deserves respect.
