Daring Deux

Roses are red, violets are blue. That was a comma splice, this one is too.

New blog post. New name. Yeah.

So, yeah. New name. It's kinda dumb, but I'm kinda dumb. Just a heads up for anyone paying attention and see a "new face" lurking around.

    Words are hard.

Words are hard. In fact, I'm writing this blog full of words, which are also hard, because they are easier than the words I want to write.

    Remember 'Fighting is Magic'?

I know I sure do. Those who didn't follow its progress very closely might not have realized what happened when it slipped quietly into the night, or maybe you don't even know what I'm talking about.

Words. Words are hard. · 4:15am Aug 15th, 2015

All right. So, my last blog was a bit rushed—I even neglected to put up a picture. Allow me to repent. This blag will have two pointless pictures! First, I give you: "Comrade Writing."

Comrade Writing

Because, that's what it looks like when I say I've been writing. At the very least, though, I have been making progress! I don't want a repeat of The Errant Sun, so I'm going to probably sit on the story until I've had quite a bit more written out. I don't want to create expectations, so I won't try to list a date or a deadline—all that I'll say is that I've committed myself to horseculture, and I'm in it for the long run, so at the very least, I'm not likely to disappear on y'all.

If any of you care to monitor progress, I try to keep the meters on the sidebar of my profile updated, though with the scope of the only project I've made any actual headway into, the meter will be filling up... slowly. I really should think of a name for the story, considering I have it all planned out. Have I ever mentioned that I'm awful with titles? I believe I slapped on the titles of my two currently released stories within a day, or an hour of posting it to the site. Words are hard.

Speaking of words, and hard things, I actually sat down and edited a few days ago for the first time in about a year.

It was actually by far the most painless editing I've ever managed to do. Normally my pace when editing is about 1k to 1.5k words per hour. During my last session, I managed about 9k in 75 minutes. And I didn't want to gouge my eyes out at the end. It was nice! I'm thinking if I can find a writer who has a strong enough grasp of grammar, and whose writing style meshes with mine, I just might be back in the market as an editor. Shout-out to cursedchords for actually listening to what his editor has to say, and growing as a writer. The story I was polishing up for EQD was The Legend of the Scorpion Queen, which all in all is a nice little fable. Kind of reminded me of a pony Disney movie, or something. So, if you like scorpions, queens, legends, or just really hate large trees, go check it out, or something :derpytongue2:.

Anyhow, if any of you that read this might want editing, or know someone who does, feel free to contact me. In any case, here's to hoping I'll get back to being more active on the site.

Cheers,

—Comrade

Looking forward to seein' what you're cookin', friendo. :D And Scorpion Queen sounds neat, I'll check it out.

Hai! Yes, words are hard. I feel like a newbie weightlifter at the gym: even after all this time, there's so many anthropomorphic masses of muscles walking around that I still feel like I've gotten no progress made.
