Asking for donations to cover expenses for an injured pet isn't petty. Unlike expenses for human beings, with pets there is no minimum standard of care: either you have enough money, or your pet dies.

Pets are like family members to a lot of people, and making a request like this is humiliating, so trying to be funny or silly about it isn't uncommon. I seriously didn't know if this was a real request when I first saw it, especially since Obsolescence has been sending people here from his blog. I'm fine with dark comedy, but I really didn't find this one amusing.

The dog being fine has nothing to do with whether the expenses were crippling.

If you read what I actually wrote:

I've seen people be self-deprecating to lessen the sting of asking for help. That's why, even though my initial post was critical about this post making fun of people who ask for help for medical expenses (because I was fairly certain the post was fake), I buffered it at the end with "if this is a real need please PM me".

I don't think you understand what I mean. He was making fun of people who asked for money for things that don't really need other people's money, yes, I feel a little bit of sympathy for his (or her, as I don't know his/her gender) dog, but he admittedly said that it was something that he could deal with without having to ask for unnecessary help. He even had the word "wallet" crossed out, indicating that he was mocking those who do ask for money for selfish reasons. He was making fun of those who asked for money that had no vital cause, not every single person who is fundraising. And the fact that the brony was hospitalised is completely irrelevant, so when you said that he was making fun of that brony who was hospitalised, you were overreacting.

Also, I didn't say that a injured, dying or dead pet was funny nor petty. This blog post doesn't contain anything relevant to dark humour. Alot of people find the aggressive comments annoying, but I find that the defensive, overreacting comments escalate the tension to new hights. So unless you have something new to say, good day Monsieur/Madame.
