My power is growing.
On semi related note, I see a lot of people baying for blood in the comments, while others are pushing for peace. The next encounter between Humanity and Equestria could either progress smoothly, or go horribly wrong and result in a sizable number of deaths. I don't usually get many comments on these blogs, but if you're reading, which outcome would you prefer?
Personally, I would suspect it would be a tenitive cease-fire at first. Where I probably would expect that to go would be properly establishing communications, and then actually saying why we were there. Perhaps peace could be reached, maybe even alliance. We have to see where it goes though, don't we?
Seeing as the whole thing was the griffons fault possible blood for them
Peace for the ponies at least.
I don't know, both would be interesting to read.
I mean, I really don't want to see Equestria + all the other nations go up in a nuclear inferno, or worse, be neutron bombed.... But at the same time, there are SO many ways for misinterpretations of the preceding events to influence how the talks/lack thereof will go.
I'd rather not read about all out war between the ponies and humans. Humans and griffons, possibly dragons, but no ponies. I've read too many of those.

I can assure you there will be no nuclear weapons used on any of the races.
To be honest, why would the humans logically try to make peace with a race that as far as they know is completely bloodthirsty? They've already lost 2 aircraft and personnel to these unknown creatures in an attack that they would probably blame on the ponies.
Well, I'd like too see peace between the equestrians and the humans, but that might be dificult while the equestrians have a captive human.
Also I'd love to see the gryphons get torn apart.
Wherever the story is headed.
Right now the safeties are off and everyone's twitchy and trigger happy but it can go either way and I like it that way.
I want to see peace, but since they have a captive human that may not happen, or at the very least, the humans will show the ponies what they can really do.
Well Shining Armour seemed really unsure about the human captive. Perhaps he will have enough sense to release him as well?
Or at least release him when all of his buddies show up in their ships.
I think that the humans will arrive at first to rescue Reyes, and (hopefully) won't attack unless provoked. I mean, shouldn't they have armour that just won't be affected by any weapons the ponies have and therefore shouldn't have anything to worry about?
My stance on the issue is that there is only so much misunderstanding and bloodshed that can go on before you start falling into Deus Ex Machina territory - the more coincidences, etc. there are, the more likely it is that at least one of them will break in everyone's favor.
Here, the ponies are want to avoid a fight with the humans and the humans just want to collect their people in peace. Thus far, every "random event" has worked against these goals. It would be the Gambler's Fallacy to say that, as a consequence, a break in their favor is more probable that it would otherwise be. However, considering events as a whole, it is incredibly unlikely that everything would break against them.

I may not have been paying that close attention, but the only 2 airships I noticed getting lost was in the last chapter, which were lost to dragons. The humans already have some suspicion that the ponies and griffons are fighting, so I don't see why they would assume that the dragons are associated with one particular side.

That's completely true however there is the possibility that due to pretty much every single living thing on this planet wanting to kill them, they might consider that that all or most of the creatures below are bloodthirsty savages.
Gah, just found this.
My prefered outcome would obviously be Spacemarines nuking Canterlot. Just for the Hell of it. You execute this so well, it could actually work. And not in a trollfic-insane kinda way.
If I were the Commander I would propably light the City up in Plasma and Napalm like Christmas Tree if they tried to hide the Person I was tasked with rescuing.
Peace with the ponies for sure. Just throw in Twilight Sparkle to teach them lessons about their language:D
but also keep some pew pew with the griffons/ dragons so that it stays interesting to read
War. War. War. WAR, GODDAMNIT.
I'm a terrible person.
