We needs a delivery drive · 7:30am Nov 12th, 2015
So, I've finally gone back to work again, returning to the grocery store I worked at back in 2010. It's alright. Better environment and people than Wal-Mart. Almost enough to make up for the $2.00/hour pay cut working 10 hours less each week. Still got a pile of credit debt, a mortgage, and a three-month backlog of unpaid bills, but it beats unemployment. Barely.
Anyway, the actual point here. The plaza my store is in also features a little Asian restaurant called, simply, Asian Grill. I've never eaten there, mostly because it always seems really dingy and gross.
Little things, like the stacks of store-bought sodas they use in lieu of fountain drinks. Those used to sit on top of a salad bar they never plugged in, by the way. But there are other small details. The industrial pressure washer next to the door (or is it an air compressor?), the wet floor sign that never moves, the inexplicable pair of funnoodles, or the health inspection report that clearly struck some critical violations (as the header is yellow), but is allowed to hang in such a way that the customer can't see what those violations were.
And now, the new sign in the window.
"We needs a delivery drive — Asian grill"
For some reason, this is just hilarious to me.
I also see a 30 years out of date security system.
That's amazing. I can only ever read that in Smeagol's voice.
