Small update · 7:45am Nov 29th, 2015
It was pointed out to me that posting copywriten lyrics are against FiMFiction's rules, and so I've begun to scrub the lyrics from The Tale of Lord Barleycorn. I'm not sure about the ones I slightly altered to be more... 'pony-ish' so I might leave them in. Hell, the mods never complained in the 2+ years LBC's been up. Maybe they won't care about those. *shrug*
EDIT: Scratch that. I guess if the mods disagree then they can tell me that themselves.
On a side note, with the new tags being implimented here, I was wondering what (if any) might apply to LBC? Drama's always been a very vague concept for me, and Mystery seems to be a bit of a stretch. would like to hear your opinion.
For the record, "copywritten" is the past participle of "copywrite" (as in "I used to copywrite ads for Compaq). You meant "copyrighted".
Remember, "copyright" is the "'right' to copy". (I quoted "right" because it's actually a government-granted monopoly with origins in censorship and, technically, a privilege. Calling it a right is just propaganda.)
Ehh...
I'd say leave the lyrics up.
The tags, they're fine as it is.
Rewrite alot of the old songs to be much more original and you'll be able to keep them I'm sure.
3578035 I think you're right about the lyrics. I put the two I found back in. If the mods complain I'll just take them out again.
The tags seem fine as is, none of the new ones really seem to be applicable.
3578211 The original deal was "we're grandfathering in every current fic for now; there's no need to go back through and edit out lyrics in posted chapters", as I understood it. Far as I know, that's still the deal.
As far as tags... I think you could defend Drama (given the whole Apple/Harvest subplot), but it's not really a big deal.
3580963 I think I'll wait and see. After so long without incident I'll keep them in until a Mod/Admin actually stops by and gives me a warning.
You are not the first to do so, and honestly nobody cares really. Its only an issue if you cclaim that its a song made by you.
Yeah, Drama and Thriller is pretty vague for me too. I looked them up many times, and still have no idea.
