How Many Times Does Trixie Actually Say "I"?

One of Trixie's best-known traits in the fandom is that she speaks in the third person all the time. But does she really? Turns out, no one has ever counted the times she says "I." Until now...

Reference/Inspiration List for "Where Black Seas Lap the Shores of Dead Stars"

Rather than litter the author's notes with references in my usual style, I thought I'd try something a little different. So, for the curious, I've made a separate blog post of all the references and allusions you might have missed!

Hat Man Reviews: "Haze" by Bandy!

Haze is a story that is filled with big ideas: Cloud empires. Flying earth ponies. Ancient religions. Superpower-inducing fungi. Unfortunately, much like the mushroom-munching ponies in this story, this story might be biting off more than it can handle…

Illustration Update: Gadget - Armed and Adorable! · 5:19am Dec 4th, 2015

So, more illustration stuff here! Green did a redesign on Gadget as she appeared back in Chapter 2, this time in full color. As he's gotten better at drawing ponies and Gadget in particular, he's been taking a look at some of the earlier illustrations and offered up a more detailed picture of her. Without further ado, here it is!

In case you're wondering about that thing she's holding, there's a story there as well. I saw the black and white sketch and I asked Green what it was. He said, "It's supposed to be a wrench." I laughed and said "It kinda looks like Sailor Moon's wand!"

I ain't wrong.

He apparently decided to run with that and make it look even more like it. I didn't tell him to change it because, hey, Gadget's a not-so-closeted otaku anyway.

And for comparison, or if you just liked the old sketch better, here's the original.

Btw, if you like Green's work, he is still open to commissions and will be happy to draw your OC. He doesn't do anything too racy, but he's reliable and willing to work with you. Find him on his DeviantArt page here and help the poor guy move out of his mom's house. :trollestia:

The WIP is always better than the end product.

I dunno, the coloured one looks pretty spiffy to me. I keep seeing Gadget as some kind of swine with that nose of hers in the older picture.

3591483 I'm not sure if you mean the black & white sketch I mentioned or if you're referring to the original illustration of Gadget at the bottom. If it's the latter, then that's cool; everyone's entitled to their opinion. However...

Pretty much that. One of the advantages of having Green draw for this story is that he's gotten progressively better at drawing noses. The pug-nose look can be cute in certain cases and I like a lot about that first illustration, but I think her updated illustration shows off her look, in particular her arms, much better. Regardless, I'll still keep the original sketch in the gallery for folks who like it.

Thank you both for your feedback!
