Because some of you were probably scratching your heads, or chalked it up to us pulling out a random name that sounded silly.
Our silliness always carries a purpose.

(It's cool, though. Everyone caught the Outrun reference, so we're still proud of you. <3)
Gonna make me get all nostalgic for 90s anime art, posting clips like that.

Welcome to me, all day, every day, from here to eternity.
I love the "oh god she's doing it again" reactions there.
Oh dear god that looks familiar. What anime is that?
What is iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit???

The Song of My People.
Oh. In hindsight, that seems kind of obvious. Though now I have to wonder if she has a long-lost older sister.

Ah, Slayers. Of cooooouuuuuurse.
This puts me at ease.
Silliness is a purpose all of its own.

...holy crap she even sounds like her.
Well played, friend. Well friggin' played. XD;
Great! Now I have to go dig my Slayers collection out of the closet, dust it off and watch all 5 seasons.

Looking at it again, that's actually quite good for a modern revival of a legacy series. There's the usual differences you get between traditional and digital painting, but the style's spot on. I know Tenchi didn't hold up nearly so well when its time came around again (with OVA4 as a total mystery so far, but here's hoping), and modern day Dragon Ball, while entertaining, only has a couple animation directors working on it who actually nail Toriyama's classic style.
While neither anime or a revival, the steady decay of Pokemon's art is also downright depressing.
Oh! :O I approve.
