That's enough drama for now · 10:57am Dec 11th, 2015

Well work has finally slowed down for once, I've had a good week long break to help me get my shit in order, (and play Fallout, mostly Fallout) and I managed to get an annoying dialogue heavy chapter out of the way that ties up a few loose ends (have to admit I'm not happy with the Tea Time chapter honestly, can't put my finger on why though). So now whats next for Handy?

Well actually, mostly nothing for some time. The next number of chapters (basically this entire arc) will be basically him recovering in Skymount to give both the characters, and the readers, a much needed breather from the drama that's been loaded onto the story for a while now. Might result in smaller chapters showing just anecdotes of things that are happening over the winter arc.

Might result in much more comedy and lighter, softer character scenes and happy times, with no life threatening danger and existential vampiric angst for once.

...

Yes I know, I'm scared too.

Trying to get this chapter done for Monday for maybe a Tuesday release. No garauntees but here's hoping.

I liked the tea time chapter, especially the dialog. Handy laughing in the guards faces as he left would have been very army of darkness, but I don't know if their resolve would have held, princess being there or not.

Shit, I know something crazy or weird is going to happen soonish. Well, at least I have stuff to do, and I'm glad you get to relax a bit more, Handy.

How will Handy survive without his angst? Will Handyman ever learn how to lie convincingly? Tune in next week to find out in the continued adventures of Murphy's favorite plaything.

The one thing I found slightly interesting in the tea time chapter was that Celestia never directly asked Handy-after Brazen was sent to timeout-if he had anything to do with Blueblood's disappearance.

I don't know, it just struck as strange because despite her stance on the matter, we've seen a sort of higher caring for Blueblood from Celestia in her and Luna's conversation.

You'd think she would have asked him to confirm he didn't do anything considering he wanted to smash the prince's skull in.

And I didn't post this on the actual chapter because I was too busy making puns.

No angst? You'll lose your 12-15 year old reading demographic, surely.

Fo' realsies though, it's been a helluva'n adventure. I don't think I've ever read anything where the protagonist has gone this long without a chance to catch their breath. Loved every minute of it, even if he didn't.

Now the real question is, can our Handyman still write anything short of a balls-to-the-walls adventure fueled by crack the blood of the innocent?

3610393 It would have been nice but Handy had judged their likely mood based on his meeting with Celestia, and opted against pushing too far.

3611147 Haha, 'relax'.

3611164 I can lie! Honest!

I do suppose one would expect her to at least enquire further on the matter and she did have a more caring attitude towards Blueblood, she just hides it well. The problem with the logic is Blueblood was actually seen in Canterlot before he vanished, and before news of the shenanigans at the tournament reached their ears, seeing as he left the tournament straight after his defeat and the dragon attack was the next day. While there is an obvious possibility of a connection, which is why Brazen tried to pull a Phoenix Wright on Handy, its not as likely as one may think.

Well, this should be fun. I'm definitely looking forwards to seeing Shortbeak's reaction to Handy's return. Between her feelings and public image, this should be absolutely hilarious. Also, I'm curious to see how long it will take Thorax to figure out how she feels about Jacques and come back for him under the guise of keeping tabs on Handy and getting free food.

I can see it now, it all starts to look up before it all comes crashing down, again. The wild ride never ends for poor Handy.

I'm looking forward to some downtime and slice of life shenanigans with royalty.
