How stupid do you have to be to be a contestant on Family Feud? · 6:51pm Jan 1st, 2016

Steve Harvey: "Name a kind of doctor who should never ask you to take your clothes off."
Female contestant: "A gynecologist."

This beats the lady who answered "orange" for "name a yellow fruit" by a landslide.

You do realize that those idiots are accurate examples of modern citizens? Smart people (i.e. us) are the exception. Even the universitites are idiotic. One student recently got people to sign a petition to repeal the First Amendment.

3656750 I'm well aware that 98% of the human race are absolute morons. But there's a limit to stupidity, and Family Feud contestants cross it all the goddamn time.

Welp, that lady could have used an otolaryngologist.

Both for her shitty ears and as a decent answer.

3656806 Touché. I've never watched Family Feud, so I assumed it was just standard idiocy. Now I know to never watch it. Sorry for sounding condescending.

3656823 Nope, you're dead on. Family Feud contestants are normal schmucks like everyone else. It's just that they make it so easy to laugh at them when they say really fucking stupid things.

Or when they just nasty:

Wanna hear something completely [redacted]?

In my very first chemistry class, the professor was reviewing the elements and the symbols, asking an element and us replying with its symbol. So the exercise went like this:

Professor: Jimmy*, Symbol for Iron?
Jimmy: "Fe."
Professor: Correct! Hidden (me), Symbol for Argon?
Me: "Ar."
Professor: Correct! Millie*, Symbol for Iridium?
Millie: "Ir."
Professor: Correct! Fucking Dumb-pants McGee Sandra*, Symbol for Phosphorus?
Fucking Dumb-pants McGee Sandra: (actual quote) FIRE! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! :derpytongue2:
Everyone else:

(* not their actual names).

I'm telling you, Idiocracy isn't just a movie. It is a dire warning of things to come.

I would have said, "The Doctor," because that's all I can think to respond to that. Or maybe, "Doctor Who."
Haha :rainbowlaugh:

Nah, I still think saying oranges are yellow is dumber. I had to google gynecologist, but the color of oranges is really obvious.

This kind of reminds me of how everyone freaked out when a helium weather balloon got loose over New York. The news stations were warning everyone to stay indoors and look out for a giant fireball falling from the sky--despite the fact that helium is a noble gas, and not flammable. Things like "It's the Hindenburg all over again!" and that was full of hydrogen.

3657222 The color is actually named after the fruit.

Here's a great collection of utter stupidity all from that show.

"What was the name of Harry Potter's owl?"
"Hagrid"

Like OMG even if you've never watched or read it you should still know that Hagrid is NOT an owl

3657656 Umm...that's a specific-knowledge question. Family Feud does general-knowledge survey questions. :ajbemused: Questions that don't have "right" or "wrong" answers. It's just matching the most popular answers given by the 100 people surveyed.

Wow, just wow. The worst part, I think, is that a woman said that.

Well actually, I probably don't know if I would've been able to come up with a good answer to that question. The only one I could think of would be dentist, but I bet the survey wouldn't think of it. Believing oranges are a yellow colored fruit is completely stupid though, I mean their name tells you what their color is.

3657704 Dentist was the #1 answer.

3657222 thing is a woman should NOT have to google gynocologist

3657660 Yeah good point...still!
And this was actually on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (i think. It's wasn't Family Feud at least)

3658491 I think you're missing the point, though. You're acting like someone who doesn't know a very specific bit of Harry Potter trivia is an idiot. You're missing the obvious fact: not everyone has read the books or watched the movies. Ergo, not knowing the difference between Hagrid and Hedwig doesn't make a person an idiot. It just means they don't know their Harry Potter. That's a completely different situation than saying "orange" when asked to name a yellow fruit, naming "frog" or "alligator" when asked to name an animal with three letters in its name, or saying "gynecologist" when asked for a type of doctor you don't get undressed for.

Do you...do you get what I'm saying here? Like...at all? :rainbowhuh:

3657222 I don't know about you but I've seen quite a few oranges that look more yellow than orange...

3658511 Yeah yeah I see what you're saying. I just would've thought that that woman would know who Hagrid is, from like the internet and word-of-mouth. But I see what you're saying, I get it.
