Anime I'm planning to watch in 2K16 & 2K17 · 12:52pm Jan 13th, 2016
Feel free to ignore this blog post, I just needed to make it to link it to my page. First I tried finding a really unpopular blog post of mine, but apparently all of them have comments and are pretty important to me
So as I said, ignore this if you want.
Here's the list, and I even alphabetized it for ya'll! And put in links
Also, the list will be updated with time of course, this isn't the final version, bur more like a list for me to remember what I want to watch
-Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
-Fullmetal Alchemist / Brotherhood
-Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (movie)
-The Irregular at Magic High School
-Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!
Anime
Get on with it already, there's so much good stuff you haven't watched yet!
just be aware of Elfen Leid. I've watched it and there is a lot of nudity in it and I think a tiny bit if incest. But other than that its a good anime like every single one on this list!
Also I recommend Yuki Yuna Is A Hero, its a lot like Puella Madoka Magica, just a little less dark and a happier ending ^^
Wow, that's a lot!

And thanks for the tips, I'll add it to the list

Suuuuuuuure.
3683241 Really though
5cm per second, I really liked that one. However I love all of Makoto Shinkai's stuff. However the reasons I love it aren't actually for the story... eheh The backgrounds and wide open spaces, the attention to detail in every facet of the animation. That's what really drew me in. I mean, even his rust spots have water trails, and there are cracks in the side walk, dented pipes and all that. It seems weird to say that's what drew me in. However if you really take a look at his stuff you'll see what I mean, as most anime do not have the time or budget for the small details. Makoto Shinkai's art is really similar in detail to Ashinano Hitoshi who did "Yokohama Shopping Trip" among other things.
Anyway, while this movie and his many others are pretty to look at, you might get bored with them. They are really slow slice-of-life romances, often sad, and with no real action to speak of. His movie "Voices of a Distant Star" had a little action in it, but even that was slow.
As for the rest of your list, you might dig Fruits Basket. All the girls used to love that anime to death way back in the day and it just recently got a manga sequel. I do see there's some distinctively fujoushi stuff there like Hetalia and Free!, but you have quite a few harem anime geared towards otaku dudes, like Amagami SS and Zero no Tsukaima. If you were to somehow watch all of that list it might oddly balance out but I really hope you don't. That's a lot of stuff to watch...

Yes, I completely agree, even though the story isn't amazing, the art in his works is
And yes, even though I love the stuff "for girls", I'm actually aware that a lot of these series are "for dudes". But there's actually a reason behind that. I haven't seen many animes, but a wide variety so far, and there's one important thing I've noticed about those "harem" animes, is their amazing attention to how the body is made and how it moves. No matter how weird it might sound, it has already helped me SO much to grow as an artist. So yeah, that's mostly the reason I have that many animes like that on this list, because of their art and how it helps me to study anatomy without having to creepily stare at people
Another reason, is that even though most of those harem animes seem just like eye-candy and fanservice on the outside, they have good psychological value. What I mean with this is of course not that they're all masterpieces, but the bad ones simply show what isn't good, wich is still a valuable lesson.
Sorry if that made no sense, haha
But nevertheless, thank you for the advice!
