Ribbons & Lace Ch. 9 · 3:09am Aug 21st, 2012
Well, it took an entire month to write (cuz I'm slow) and ended up near enough double the length of the next-longest chapter, but chapter 9 is up. And it's a doozy.
Immense thanks to Steel Resolve for his help in getting the tone and pacing right, and thanks also to DirigibleQuixote, who was willing to pre-read for me once he got back from internet blackout land. On the down side, he didn't actually get a chance to pre-read. On the up side, he gets to come back to a brand new huge chapter, so hey. Win-win.
Just one more chapter to go...
Good things come to those who wait--and I'd say a record-breaking length is a damn good thing to wait for.

I don't think "record-breaking" is quite the right term, given that Kkat smashed my entire career word count in a single earthshattering chapter, but the sentiment is appreciated.

Well, record-breaking by your standards. Realistic goals, and all that.

You might be able to slide a sheet of paper under that particular bar...
One more chapter? You mean stories have to end?
i dont really like the prospect of this story ending..
but almost every story i read and cant get enough of tends to end sooner than i (and probaply most other) would like it to..
with that in mind.. come at me and give it your best shot in ending that story.. you will see what that gets you
I don't think I could take the ending in the direction it looks like its going. ._.;; I'm a sucker for a happy or bittersweet ending, but now? This looks like a tragedy in the works...
302867 have some faith, Shy did not say no. She just found out her best friend has been stalking and lusting after her. It's a little... startling. Even the element of kindness has limits. But they are extremely close friends. Even if Shy does not love Rarity, she won't leave her like this. There will be a reconciliation. There was no way this was just going to end perfectly at the first reveal.
