Needless to say, the title of this blog post is almost entirely facetious.
One way or another, though, I will get the next chapter of Desert Spice up tonight.
Demonstration of the crap I have to deal with in order to do so below the break.
If you take a close look at the above image, you'll notice something peculiar about the BBCode tags. Namely, that there are way too frakking many of them and that, furthermore, they are open-ended and broken. This sort of thing happens every time I attempt to use the GDoc import button on Fimfiction's chapter editor, but tonight's instance is even worse than usual. Typically, I just need to remove the busted center tags clinging to the edges of each paragraph without killing the indents, but tonight I also need to hunt down random bits of punctuation the uploader decided to italicize, among other manners of fresh bullcrap. Gotta say, this sort of thing is a serious mood killer.
Has this sort of thing ever happened to anyone else? If so, how might I avoid this situation in the future? Aside from writing the entire chapter directly in Fimfiction's editor, or copypasting from GDocs and hand-formatting each instance of italics or centering myself, that is.
Thankfully, though, the knowledge that I am so close to posting the next chapter of Desert Spice fills me with determination, so it'll take a lot more than this to beat me!
Now to get back to this moronic slog I shouldn't need to deal with.
Yes, definitely had that happen. To the last 6 or 7 chapters of Beyond the Borderlands. I'm not sure why, though it may have had something to do with the default formatting in Docs getting screwed up for those last chapters, but man was it annoying!
I don't know what it is, but that image isn't working for me either.

Well, sure, but I'd rather not wait that long. :)
I just write out my stuff in either a local word processor or Fimfiction itself, adding the BBCode tags as I go. They're like an elaborate set of punctuation to me.
Also, I'm getting a 403 Foribdden on the image; apparently, I'm not allowed to view it.
