Hard-drive issues · 4:10pm Feb 9th, 2016
Once again I raise my ugly mug, hoping that none of my followers -who I'm amazed haven't gone rabid for my blood by now- try to take it off in a frenzy of 'when is so and so going to be done?'.
Well, I'll tell you, it will be done when I manage to get my writer's block out of the way. Other than that, things have gone so-so. I'll explain:
Recently while working on one thing or another -the next chapter of Bat and Bug in particular- I took note that my hard-drive was making some rather uncomplimentary sounds. Sounds that made me think that someone had introduced some really weird toads into my house. After consulting with a friend of mine -as I had never heard these sounds before and just having a diploma in I.T. doesn't make me aware of all of the sounds that a hard-drive can make- he informed me that it was the sound of a hard-drive trying to die.
Now, $136 down the pot, I have a new hard-drive, and I am basically back to square one in terms of what is actually installed on my PC. Word is being installed as I type, and my archived chapters -thankfully backed up before anything could die- are going to be recovered at my soonest opportunity. Hopefully things will be back on schedule, as lax as it unfortunately is, by tomorrow.
I'm sorry that things are taking so long to get done, I really don't like that the time between my chapters is so large. I'm doing my best, I swear.
Thanks for your ears, hope to see you again soon.
$136 for a new HDD? Ok must be be a 2TB at least. Sorry work at a electronics store, specifically the department that stocks the main components.
Dude life sucks and hard drives die, that is a fact of life. You at least caught it before things went really bad
Yay new chapter in story I like! and damn. I know well how it goes with hard drives. I cant go 5-6 months before needing a new one. if im lucky. they burn out around me and for some reason me being near tech makes it go haywire at times.
