Guess I'm a Brony! (debut post) · 12:58pm Feb 14th, 2016
Hello every-pony, (you are suppose to say that right?) I am kinda of new to the Fandom but I have enjoyed the show for two years now. I never really thought that I would engage with the fandom, or contribute to its community, and just stay a casual brony so to speak. But here I am!
I got to say that this show really pulled my heartstrings in many ways. I began to care for the show and the characters to the point where I legitimately cried while watching the youtube video "Remembrance" because it was so beautiful and the very thought that five of the mane six was dead made "my liquid pride" flow.
Anyway, one brony video after the other I found DRwolf001, who really helped me with creativity in general and how to overcome (to some extent) self doubt. From him I heard that the brony community is very supportive when it comes to creators and I wanted to try my hands on writing a fanfic, something that I could never imagine myself doing just a few months ago! I would lie if I said that i did not crave approval because all artists does, but I would also lie if I said that that was the only reason I wanted to make a fanfic. Other creators has shown that you can make interesting scenarios with the material from the show and I want to explore this.
To start of I have created my own MLP OC, her name? You guest it, "Krystal Dusk". Granted she was created from a pony generator, but it will have to do for now. She has a backstory that I plan to make into short fiction, which I will upload as soon as I feel satisfied with it.
Thank you for reading and I hope this will be the start for many fanfictions to come!
Yeah, that sounds a lot like how most people get a start in the fandom. There are a lot of creative people in this fandom, and they seem to inspire others as well. If you have any questions about how the site works, then please don't be afraid to ask me. I'm glad to be of service, and we are all glad that you've joined on!
