    Seashell paperback incoming!

Once again, the proof copy is out for delivery right now.

The hardcover edition proof copy turned out great - some text mistakes to fix, but no printing errors that aren't mine! Lulu can print a book to specifications! Yay!

    Seashell: getting closer to print!

Here's where we are on the Seashell print book:
83 pages all told, including front matter and a preface. 75 of them so far are story. Anticipating about 10-20 more pages to be finished. Almost there!
Cover's done (for the hardcover edition dust-jacket, at least, will probably have to be redone for the paperback but whatever).

Anyone up for a really quick turnaround pre-reading? · 5:07am Mar 5th, 2016

More or less what the thread title says, I'm in need of some very fast proofreading / pre-reading of a story that's approximately 6k words long. I'm looking for a maximum 24 hour turnaround (as of the moment this blog is posted), since this is a Scribblefest entry and therefore absolutely has to be up by March 6th.

I'm fully aware that this is kind of an unreasonable request, so I don't expect anything (and I think I'll still have a fine enough entry if no one responds, so don't worry too much about it), but just in case anyone is bored and feels like helping, I thought I'd toss it out there.

I'd be happy to offer, and I can proofread pretty good, but to be honest I'm not sure I'm qualified as a pre-reader. Offering feedback on writing probably requires some ability to write, after all, and I'd feel bad if all I could offer is "it's good" or "there was something off but I don't know what."

3792043 Any level of proofreading, like catching simple spelling mistakes or missing words, would really help, if you're interested.

If I can be of any assistance, I would be happy to. Would ASAP work for you? I have to be up somewhat early tomorrow and will be out all day, so I'm afraid my only free time is tonight.

3792071 Sure, I'll PM you the link right now.

ya need fast readers I'm happy ta help ^-^

3792413 Thanks for offering, but I was actually able to get enough pre-reading. Due to time constraints, I need to keep moving on toward publishing, which should ideally happen a little later today.

3792625 damn okiedokie, just a lil bored since I'm kinda running outta unread fics :p

I'm late to the offer, but I really like your stories and I'd love to help out in any way. It's been a while since I've written anything on this site and I'd like to get back to striking iron.

3862096 Well, this particular story is long since finished (it became Kaleidoscope, my Scribblefest entry)... but I do have another (longer) story in progress that I could always use more pre-readers on!

Let me know if you're interested in a longer term project and I'll shoot you some GDocs links to the first three chapters if you are.
