Comments on Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero

I've been doing those not-reviews thing for a while. I don't always have a lot to say (one time I had NOTHING to say at all), but at least I had some information to share with you. This time it will be a little different. This won't be a story about magical girls. It's a story about a very dumb person who ruined his own experience. Sit down, relax, and let me tell how Jetto experienced the tale

Funny story, I completely forgot that this title exists until recently, when Netflix used their magical algorithm to remind me that yes, I watch anime, and that I still haven't seen their greatest original show. Thank you Netflix. You did good (for once).

    Comments on Rozen Maiden

Talk about a blast from the past. Rozen Maiden is on the list of "barely counts as Magical Girls, but I've done worse" titles that I watched way back in the day and only recently remembered when I heard that song again. Dat song tho...

    Season 9 Finale Predictions

Having seen "Twilight's Seven" (a fantastic episode, leave this blog post to watch, there will be spoilers) I would like to make a prediction about how the story might come to a close. I'm doing it for bragging rights, therefore it's very important!

Quick Story Idea (that I won't write, because find out below)

I'm pretty sure I wasn't the first one who thought about it, but I still have to share it. No title yet, but the reason I'm not writing this EVER is because <drum roll>

I don't write clop. This is the moment you can leave safely, anything below is your fault.

Setting: Equestria, between seasons 8 and 9, Ponyville, Twilight's Castle

Regarding the unplanned hiatus... · 5:14pm Mar 9th, 2016

A lot of time without a single update requires a bit of an explanation.

...I don't really have any solid one. Sure, I was busy with work, sure I wasn't in a mood due to poor health (whether its cold or that stupid skin thing I mentioned before), sure, I was suffering from a heavy writers block, but most of it was just pure laziness.

And RWBY. My god, that show is awesome, go and watch it, its on youtube, all episodes are free.

Either way I'll try to go back to writing and set you up something nice for all the patience you've given me. The problem is that my current project is a multi-parter and it's going very, very slowly, for some reason and... actually, I should stop with the excuses and go back to it.

And in case anyone is wondering, Eyeswirl is busy with his own stuff, but he didn't leave Stallionverse and is in fact working on something...

PS: I feel like I should mention who my RWBY waifu is, but... :ajsleepy::fluttercry::applecry: :raritydespair::raritycry: (and all the fans probably now know. Please no spoilers)

Nora FTW

"III'm Queen of the castle! III'm Queen of the castle!"

3799874 She'll be a queen of your castle, boop you daily and break the legs of your enemies with her granade launcher/hammer. She'll never shut up and forget to get her headphones on, but it's a good pay-off.

Did I mention RWBY is awesome?

Heya, another RWBY fan! That show is seriously awesome. Too bad that the fanfics for it are mostly very unoriginal. I'm not saying that only doing ponyfic readings is boring, but I was really hoping for something more from a show that has its own Derpy Hooves.

Really, give the FIM-level of awesomeness weapons and managing monsters = RWBY.

Oh man the end of season three was brutal, I might need a hand getting through it.

3800382 Too soon, man!

JMP

3799947 Who's RWBY's Derpy? Jaune? Velvet?

And oh man, RWBY. Besides wishing that Volume 3 ended on a MUCH happier note ("Wham Episode"? More like "Wham half-season"....:fluttercry:), it'd just be nice if Sun used his awesome weapon more. I mean, all of Team RWBY's weapons are fantastic (and Ruby is just completely adorkable with her constant fangasms over weaponry), but Sun's got a staff that breaks into twin shotgun nunchuks. And we only see that aspect once.

I'm gonna take a wild gamble at your Waifu in RWBY. Velvet Scarlatina (The rabbit girl)
Personally, mine is Blake. She and I are so alike, it's uncanny. I'm a bookworm, despise dogs with every fiber of my being, adore cats and avoid human contact as much as possible.

Hm. I'm going to say, Nora, aka, a cross between TF2's Demoman and Thor in terms of power. Just, don't get her angry, she's dangerous enough if she's happy, but make her actually ANGRY and I doubt she's going to be very merciful. I doubt your legs are all she'll break.

3800652 That would be Velvet, a character who was supposed to be a one-off for a few scenes, but then got more lines and one badass power. My inner Fate/Stay Night fan was pleased with Unlimited Weapon Copies.

3800684 As much as I like Velvet, she's not the waifu you're looking for.
And it's weird, I should be all over Blake (that's what she said) for those exact reasons, but... I'm not. She's too much like me and I don't like myself too much.

3800996 Great choice, but nope.

Come on guys, are you even trying to guess?

Hint: Won't be appearing in volume 4.

3801316 My heart still aches :fluttercry:

The ship had finally sailed and then they do that to us. The monsters.

3800652 Oh, JAune, did not even think of him... Yeah, he's kinda clumsy, but I was talking more about the "wasn't even supposed to be a character"-aspect of Velvet. They said in the production diary that they only needed a character to introduce the faunus race, but the fans started giving that character names and in the end there was a contest where fans could send in character designs for Velvet. That's where her outfit in the volume 3 finale is from.

Personally, I started out with volume 3. I started watching because I was bored, since in the description it only said "the story of four girls" and I though "well that's boring". Little did I know. So yeah, when the whole thing took a turn for the dark in episode six, I wasn't really all that surprised. And then I had to go back and watch the other two volumes, since episode seven wasn't out yet.

I forgot about Sun's nunchuk shotguns. Yeah, I would've liked to see more of that. While on the subject of fighting, those are really nice too! It's interesting that Yang and Ruby have similar fighting styles, even though their weapons are fundamentally different. Yang mostly relies on her semblance and strength, but she has the ranged option with her shotgun gauntlets, she can also use them close quarters, and just like Ruby, she often integrates the recoil from her weapons in her overall style.
With Phyrra, her style is just overall fluid and you can see somethings not right there. Nora, everybody know's about her super strength, and Ren is - essentially - a ninja. Nuff said.

Though the characters I'm probably most interested in are Neo (I'd really like to know what's up with her changing eyecolours) and Mercury. I just love his fight scene in season four of volume three, against Coco and samurai-guy.

3800652 So after that wall of text... what's that you said about fangasms?

JMP

3801314 While Velvet's weapon was badass, nothing can really match the power of Unlimited Budget Works. Still waiting on that Heaven's Feel movie, since that route has amazing fight scenes, like Shirou projecting Berserker's sword and using it to fight against an empowered and corrupted Berserker. Also everything about Saber Alter. Well, in between all of Kotomine's 5 page monologues summing up to "You know nothing, Jon Snow", anyway.

JMP

3801406 Yang and Ruby don't really have similar fighting styles at all. Ruby flies around using the recoil from Crescent Rose, while Yang is a close-quarters brawler. Speed and agility vs. pure strength and resilience. Mercury has a much similar fighting style to Yang than Ruby does, as he's a kick-based fighter with weapons in his legs. I've been watching since the first trailer for RWBY. I was an active Red vs. Blue viewer at the time, and an entire show with Rooster Teeth's CG animation style caught my eye. Been hooked ever since.

As for characters I want to know more about, Neo's up there, but honestly the two characters I'm most interested in are ones we hardly see at all: Summer Rose and Raven Brawnen, the mothers of Ruby and Yang, respectively. With Summer, it's mainly "What happened to her?". With Raven, it's "Why is she the way she is?", "Why did she leave Taiyang as soon as Yang was born?", "Why show up now, after 18 years of being absent from your daughter's life?", and a more desperate "Where were you this entire Volume? You could have prevented Pyrrha from dying in her confrontation with Cinder.".

JMP

3801409 Ruby is very excitable when it comes to weapons and Huntsmen/Huntresses. It's mostly prevalent in Volume 1, as she does calm down a bit after actually spending time in Beacon. Ruby's excellent at talking increasingly fast to the point where it's hard to understand what she's saying. It helps that she's from a family of Huntsmen. Her parents were part of Team STRQ when they went to Beacon, her uncle teaches at the school she went to before Beacon (Signal Academy), and her older sister was about to start attending Beacon by the series premiere.

3801314 Aww shit... It's Pira isn't it.
