In my experience, if it doesnt have sex in it, a HiE won't be featured for more than an hour most days if it does make it that far. However once it is featured, it'll be featured again as soon as it updates. Thats happened to my story even if I havent updated in months.

It especially makes sense for mine. It's certainly something that'd only appeal for a more niche audience... y'know, ones that like reading about a xenophobic empire violently invading Equestria and about an alicorn's ear being bitten off...
Eh, I don't even really care too much about being featured, especially since I got featured my first day on the site, but it certainly is a good motivator to keep writing which is definitely my biggest problem as of now.
