I am surprisingly okay with this. It kind of makes sense given who Twilight is and to help keep the show's premise going while still giving the impression that things have changed.

I am surprisingly okay with this. Surprised but okay, she showed she had a lot of raw power in the last season, but apparently that's just power but not actual know how and learning. The difference between a bodybuilder and the village strongman I guess. Sunburst is literally the exact opposite, the very definition of scholarly wizard but has practically no power or ability to capitalize on his knowledge. Its a nice dichotomy.

I am surprisingly okay with this. Its clear the ecology of the world in the show is fucked somehow considering the ponies need to keep it in check with their power, regulation and influence, but its about time we see exactly why they fear uncontrolled weather. And apparantly its because the forces of nature are literally chaotic forces of nature. Not unlike how I treated Winter in the Greenwoods, I'm happy with this state of affairs.

I was also going to post a scene I wrote last night depicting a snippet of what the world was like before the time of the Alicorns and the rise of the Crystal empire. It was significantly darker than I had intended, and I have since lost the scene. I really need to stop listening to audio books about the Broken Empire, Mark Lawerence is like George R.R. Martin only twice as willing to unceremoniously drown the entirety of Ireland off the map before any of the books start.

3834825 It was never on hiatus, I just hit a massive fucking depression that pretty much killed all creative purpose in my life for... about three months. Happened last year too.
3834844 Depression strikes at the worst times and is never pretty... it's good that you got through them though. And when i said 'thanks for not having gone hiatus with the story' , i meant it in a way that even if you took a few month pause, you would return to it and not just outright abandon it, like more and more authors seems to be doing these days.
It's rare to see good, long stories such as this still continue, as more than a handful have been lost to time and internet....
Anyway, You have been doing great work with this story for the last two years, you have my salute.

I can tell you that while many of the people I've met write it off as something immaterial, it can be fairly life-changing if it hits at the wrong time. I speak from experience, as my lifetime goal of joining my nation's armed forces was brought to a swift and unforeseen end the moment I breathed the word to my recruiter during a psychological exam. So many people jump to conclusions on the 'no natural alicorns' shit. Does anybody notice the 'in Equestrian History' qualifier? Equestria's only been around for about a thousand years. Besides, with how old Celestia is, do you think she'd even remember her own birth? Seriously, the thing she said was "There have been no other natural born Alicorns in Equestrian History". Luna and Celestia are pre-Equestria. I think the only thing we even know about Cadance is that she isn't a naturally born alicorn, if that. The only backing information that exists is the false-finale of Twilight's Alicornification.
