Nanowrimo (Or, why I'm currently writing a 50000-word fanfic)

It won't be posted until WELL into December, (major editing, creating a cover picture. Or begging someone else to do it. etc.), but it will get done. Mostly because I told so many people about this I will be publicly shamed if I don't complete the challenge.

    My deepest, darkest, secret...

...is that I'm terribly lazy. No, I haven't been horribly busy (until school started last week), and no, I haven't suffered recently from writer's block. I have plenty of carefully crafted beginnings or half-finished stories that'll never come to fruition. I just haven't had the willpower to put pen to paper, or finger to keyboard, or...well, you get the point. After work, all I wanted to do was

    Challenge Accepted

Despite work, babysitting, and the allure of the internet, I'm almost done with my new story. Except I still need a last paragraph, need to do some serious editing, and need to come up with a better title.

On a related note, I noticed the feature box has remained mostly the same this week.

    CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

So, I finally finished my mother's day story...only to find my internet connection down. Ufortunatley, I can' t type out a full-length story on a phone.

My deepest, darkest, secret... · 2:10am Aug 29th, 2012

...is that I'm terribly lazy. After work, all I wanted to do was sleep, read, or watch ponies or Doctor Who, so little was done. Also, I had to abandon a few storylines for various reasons. (For example, one I was actually pretty close to finishing, only to realize it's too meta. I may still finish it and post it somewhere else, since it's a decent story. Plus, it's more adventure than meta and what meta elements there are don't overpower the adventure elements.)

Anyway, I do, however, have a few BIG announcements:

1. I do have one story I am sticking with, although it requires me to re-watch all the episodes. It may take a while, considering the mountain of homework I've managed to accumulate by day FIVE of this school year. The first chapter should be published soon, depending on the workload, and if I go to Midwestria.

2. I need a pre-reader and an artist for one series, and a possible collaborator for another. Interested? Let me know, please!

3. This is the big news; I'm changing my name. I've felt for a while (pretty much within a week of picking it) that it doesn't reflect at all who I am. Once I finish making my logo, I'll be changing my name. I'll post once more before I do that, however, so don't worry.

Okie dokie lokie, it's about time I got back to work. Hopefully I'll have a story for you soon!

I changed my name too. I think it's best to go with something funny and/or positive. Also, you need a brighter, happier, more pony-related avatar.

You have to swear off watching TV (other than MLP) if you want to get much done in life ;)

Scrapping your own story ideas and/or false starts is a good skill. Most of my stories probably should have been scrapped or at least totally reworked before I posted them. Oh well, they were fun to write and I've been entertaining more people than I expected. I'll try harder with my future stories.

I'm a little busy with a ~50K word fic right now, but I'd love to co-author something with you or at least just bounce some ideas back and forth. I'm down with pre-reading for you too, once I get caught up on stuff.

319369 Thanks. That'd be great!
