Put it this way at least you and Hasbro were being canonical together.

Nah you weren't write the same thing. You were writing it better.
Or more entertaining at least.

3875051 What this pony said!

Can't you just reject their reality and substitute your own? Isn't that what most fanfic authors do already? Just slap on the "alternate universe" tag and you're good to go.

3875058 Oh hush, its not that they ruin fanfictions that I like, its that the contradict those obnoxious bronies who shove presuppositions down other bronies' throats.

Sides, I'm more annoyed that its happening concurrently than anything about the episode itself, it certainly gives me a lot to work with that I didn't have before, like Ember for example. And is way better than Griffonstone which pretty much reduced all of griffonkind to a negative racial trait of greediness.

3875051 That's not much of a challenge these days.... :ajsleepy:

Like that racist stereotype labeling Choctaws as lazy, abusive, alcoholic druggies who live off the government and refuse to better themselves. .. wait... that one is actually true for most of them. Is it a racist stereotype when it's actually true?:rainbowhuh:

You do realize the story boarders actively take from and read the fanfiction, yeah? It isn't too much of a coincidence.

You should tweeter about this, maybe ask the people making the season about it.

3875140 Nothing this side of a late-night/early morning showing on an access-restricted channel :rainbowlaugh:.

3875128
Except that I work on a Choctaw Indian reservation and everything I said happens to be true for the majority of them. It's sad and infuriating really. Don't try blaming the "white man" first keeping you down when you won't get up off your fat, lazy, pot smoking ass!:flutterrage:
Not directed at anyone here. Unless you actually happen to fall into the category. I'm fat and lazy, but I do work. My main problem it is like to eat. And my liver doesn't appreciate that.

Well now that I've watched it I remember how irritating Rarity's voice is.

3875140 Contrarian minutia.

Stop giving them ideas!

3875176 got fatty liver syndrome. My liver is basically foie gras. I need to go pretty much paleo and cut out the sugar and hight starches and fatty meats (fatty fish is fine) to straighten it out.

Just to clarify: when you say you're writing about "this exact thing," are you referring to the thing where the thing happened? Or to the thing where that one character did the thing with the other thing?

3875594
Conceptually, the same concept of the thing.

Eh, the episode was cliche, but cool. Yet your story is even better no matter what you've done with it so far.

Just makes me even more curious about the current plot-line. You tend to do them better.

Well, good news for you, you get to rewrite it in your own image. I mean, your Equestria is already an alternative world, so the events may as well be alternative. But, i don't see why not pick characters or events from episodes, if they are useful.....

3875040 Well that is certainly one positive outcome.

3875051 Thanks.

3875057 True, but I try to stay at least a bit consistent with the canon, part of the reason why I had the story set several years into the future of the show.

3875084 Silly racialists.

3875104 Sad, right?

3875119 They do? I thought good industry practice was to stay AWAY from fanfiction so as to avoid any potential lawsuits?

3875111
3875170 Honestly I know nothing about the situation of the Native Americans, so I cant really comment on this.

3875128 The degree to which the world has changed in the last ten years alone with regards to free speech, freedom of association, and freedom of expression is frightening.

3875133 I don't use twitter.

3875212 I don't mind her voice, personally.

3875387 No.

3875594 No, I meant the concept of Spike having to go back to dragonland because 'reasons', I had been slowly hinting and building up to it in the story and was about to propose the matter in story next chapter. Then this episode came out. I don't mind, it does give me a lot more to work with, and I like Princess Ember.

3875897
3875952
3875968 I am going to be utilising elements from this episode, I just overreacted when I realised I was going to have to rewrite some things.

3876037 I really enjoy reading story's when there is nothing is holding the author back. The show may have inspired many to write about it but its those authors that can make content that i am genuinely captivated by.

3876037 eh, it's easier for you know, since you know the general events of the episode, you can utilize it freely without thinking too far ahead. And besides, you can always use characters and items and events you planned in different way in different story... or later in this story, if you need to.

3876037 Yes, and yes. The pillows line in the episode though. And blue constantly smiling dragon.

3876609 Wait you did what to Davidson?

3876677 That was a touch unfair to Davidson, Hans.

3875065 Actually, the latest chapter of Bad Mondays fits Griffonstone in as a separate entity from the Griffonian Kingdoms.

Did anyone else notice how there wasn’t one adult dragon in the new episode competing for the supposed right to rule all dragon kind? Lord Torch gave me the impression of a retiring babysitter / schoolteacher keeping the younger dragons in check then a sovereign.

3876037 Gotcha. Like other folks have said, I totally don't mind--I'm sure your own take on that storyline will be just as entertaining (if not more so). Personally, I thought it was by far the best Spike episode so far, so I'm excited to see where you'll take it!
