Things I'm Losing Sleep Over [April] · 8:24am Apr 20th, 2016
Ugh. Ya know, one of these days I'll actually post something I'm working on, and stop hording it, yeah?
So I've had a grand total of THREE new story ideas this month, and most of my reading has come from FictionPress, not actual novels. I've also read a good bit of pony fiction-- nothing crazy, just re-reading the stuff I had in my library. I seemed to go through phases with my shipping, like RainbowPieRainbowPieRainbowP[bored]Twile[bored]Twink[bored]RainbowPieRain[bored]
And so on.
But, anyway. About those three story ideas:
Just Like Heaven**** -- A TwiPie love story that ends in tragedy. Exercise in mood and description. You should know better than to read something written by me and tagged both sad and romance, just, ah, just sayin'. [Sad] [Tragedy] [Romance] [SoL] [OneShot] Word Count: <5k
Rome and Tiber**** -- It was her special fault, that when at Canterlot she longed for Ponyville, and when at Ponyville she regretted Canterlot. Not that Fancy was to be taken as representing the joys of the great capital, though Applejack may be presumed to form no inconsiderable part of the promised delights of the country. Now that she had sacrificed Ponyville, because it had seemed to her that the sunny quiet of its pastures lacked the excitement necessary for the happiness of life, she was again prepared to quarrel with the heartlessness of Canterlot, and already was sighing for the tranquility of the country. [Romance] [SoL] Word Count: <50k
Valor**** -- Twilight Sparkle thought there was nothing else left to learn about friendship. She is proven wrong. [SoL] [OneShot?] Word Count: Psshh. Uh, idk.
So, that's that. Have I ever mentioned that I love one shots? Well, I do. See, one shots are awesome, cause they get your point across in a bite-sized snippet that doesn't dance around something for too long. Today's generation has a ridiculously limited attention span, due to technology and all those great things in life, so, really, one shots are the best things ever for getting to the top.
Also, writing exhausts me, as does my 'all-in' job, as does life, so I often can only concentrate enough to push out a one shot.
Is it me or did writing used to be much easier? FML. I hate this shit. I can't live without this shit...
