Dear Ice Star, my faithful student,

A wise pony in a distant world once wrote "what dreams may come, / When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, / Must give us pause."

The story may be silly, but now I'm thinking of what it is that we create frightening things. Do we like to be afraid? That's one explanation. Others have offered the explanation that there's some darkness we need to let out, and I think that's a little closer. More and more I think it is the human mind's acute awareness of the numinous world beneath the physical breaking through. It's the sublime invading our world like an axe through a door, Shining-style.

I think at one point in the comments there was an awful joke about Celestia having unhinged jaws like a snake and then I was like "oh yeah Twilight will figure out when she's ready to nom down on. Princesses eat princesses" or whatever. That comment thread in that story was terrible.

3903398 it's a oneshot crackfic about Celestia trying to enjoy a vacation in disguise and being told that not only is her disguise fake, but that she Celestia herself is fake.

It started out as a really serious Twilight and Celestia story about the nature of time and identity called "Monophysite" but somewhere along the way it became a story about Celestia eating cake VERY AGGRESSIVELY.
