    Muggonny needs help

My good friend Muggonny has been in dire financial straits before, and I know that most of y'all will remember my blog about that. Well, now he needs help again. Except, it's not necessarily for him, it's for his sister and her extremely young child. I admittedly don't have the funds to spare myself at the moment (I'm on a brief

Hey, remember that thing I wrote?

The rough, experimental little piece about the pegasus tribe? Well, it's now a polished little piece in its own right. If you liked the early version, give this one a read, upvote, and comment. More words to follow, soon.

    Hello gamers

I have been so quiet lately because I have been hard at work (also, I have some important happenings irrelevant to this blog) on some updates. One of those is a brand spankin' new story for Mother's Day. It has been in the works for a few years now. That's right, ya boi wrote a normal Mother's Day story. Probably.

    Catch the SFW flavor here:

    Reader interaction poll!

    Please check it out here.

Since comments are a little scarce and I’m new to long-form mature fiction, I wanted to do a quick survey. It’s all anonymous but it’s going to be very helpful because of the content slated to appear in the next few chapters. Your votes will help me gauge reader feelings and the intensity of how graphic things will be.

    Pretty Pony Poems

Lately, I have been going through various complete entries in Missing Pages that were too short to publish. I decided that "Just Weep" shouldn't be left to gather dust there. I've since published it as its own story with the addition of eight new poems about Celestia (and Luna) so that it is long enough to count as a one-shot according to the site's minimum wordcount rule. If you read the

Season Six, Episode Six
No Second Prances

0:45 So, Twilight has confimed my belief that Frienship is Knives. And is it just me or has she been behaving rather odd for this season? Is there something weird happening with the writing staff?

1:30 Too soon, Starlight. Yeesh. I'm still waiting for her to get her own extremely well defined personality-the Mane Six had that established in episodes one and two, for a comparison and Sunset Shimmer has a stronger personality than she does post-reform, as do the Princesses, Shiny, and Spike. At least in S6E1/2 They touched on some of her persuasive-manipulative behaviour (read: speech skill) but so far she's come across as bland.

2:57 I like Mrs.Cake and of course Starlight has to go drop a cake on her head. (I hope Starlight gets a decent nickname like how Twilight has 'Twi'. Although I *really* hope it isn't Star since that is too easy.) Did I mention Starlight also shot my parents in an alley which lead me to have an unending thirst for justice (or something like that...)?

3:00 Her special talent seems to be removing cutie marks (I want to see how she learned to do that) but she seems to be good at magic in general, like Sunny and Twi even though she was established to not be as good with magic as Sunburst.

3:39 Starlight. Stop. No. Don't hurt Big Mac.

3:58 Keep her away from the mind magic.

4:06 No kidding Starlight. I'm with AJ on this one.

5:40 "Enslaving villages, I guess." I am very, very concerned. Especially since she has shown charisma and good manipulation as well as communication skills before. I simply cannot figure this mare out.

7:12 Trixie was just antagonistic Starlight, not bent on (foolish plans of) world domination. I also don't like Trixie. I also noticed the lack of illeism there.

8:29 "with anypony." *Anypony* Twilight, you should know how to phrase things better.

10:43 Twilight should have said, "Ni!"

11:05 Vinyl!

12:31 Trixie needs to read a fantasy novel. That amulet was corrupting not soul-sucking.

15:12 Trixie really sucks. That was not just a jerk move but that of a heartless jerk.

15:40 Vinyl! Again!

18:26 Ha! She (Trixie) said it!

18:45 Poor Manticore. It has to be near Trixie.

19:28 That's a pretty sky.

21:47 It's all natural, Cranky. :trollestia:

Overall: *shrug* There wasn't enough meat on this one.

A few things.

1) Your blog tags are hilarious.

2) This episode suffered really badly by overly pandering to the point of being distracting (hey look everybody! Derpy! Laugh god damn it!) and characters acting either really fucking overblown to drive the plot (Trixie literally killing herself) or characters acting entirely unlike themselves. Celestia was rather aloof and irritable for no real reason, Twilight's neuroticism was turned up to 11, you get my point.

3) It was really hard to empathize with Trixie, because she was a jerk to everyone except Starlight and then complained about not being able to make friends. I'm by no means an excerpt, but if you're upset that ponies don't like you for being a jerk... don't be such a jerk. Furthermore, the morale was a trainwreck because of it. It was just... confusing. Like, Starlight was put into a position where she literally had to save Trixie even if she didn't agree with being her friend, and it made Twilight look really bad for not doing so. Plus, apparently I can blow off a diner date with the princesses that apparently meant a great deal for Twilight without there being any consequences. Good to know.

Yeah. I guess it was trying to be a spectacle or something, but it kinda fell flat on most regards I actually care about in a good episode—realistic and entertaining character interactions.

Oh damn, I guess I accidentally ranted. Whoops.

*waves hoof* Oh, it's fine. We're fanfic writers, we live on ranting! :rainbowlaugh:

Thanks for enjoying my silly blogs. If you follow my other stories and take a peek at my library you'll note that I LOVE jerk characters (I am quite the jerk myself) :rainbowwild: especially when written right. Trixie has always come across as way more of a mix of (hope I'm spelling these right) histronic and narcisstic, thus suiting her job of parlor tricks and showmare. I wouldn't quite call her dramatic which is how some people seem to like to play her. As for a good example of a spectacle have you heard this? As for Trixie stories, I have read a few good ones here and here. Jerk characters really are wonderful things, aren't they? Do you happen to have any favorites pony or non-pony?

3908318 Celestia is my favourite, then Luna. Then maybe Cadance or Twilight for third place, I dunno, that fluctuates pretty frequently. I absolutely love writing Nightmare Moon as well, because of how much of a jerk she can be.

Oh, I really like Applejack too.

But back to jerk characters; I love them too and 90% of my comedy is built on snark and sarcasm—but it just bugs me when the writers make them out to be complete victims when it's a reasonable percent their responsibility, too.

Snark and sarcasm is my stuff. :yay:

Season Six is certainly and interesting one.
