Reasons why, and distractions · 6:46am Jun 6th, 2016
I've noticed a few authors have become disenfranchised with MLP as a whole and have given up writing fan fictions. And while I can say so far I've not been so impressed with a good portion of the current and last season, I still am a fan and will continue to watch, and more importantly write. Why? Because it's who I am. I am a creator, of worlds, ideas, stories unique enough that have gain attention of a few readers. This isn't to say that breaks won't be necessary to help with the writing (do not confuse this with giving up or that I'm not writing now...) or that I begin to dislike the show, but there is something I have seen with us creative types. We can't leave things unfinished. It's hard to work on something you no longer have a passion for, I've had several stories that I just stopped writing...but I do intend to revisit them, and give them the time that they deserve (in fact key "players" in borders are from these very stories.) so I have taken these "I dislike the show, fandom...ect" or " I've grown bored of [insert reason here]" with a grain of salt because, I hear them say this only to see them return to performing their art a few months or a year down the road. Yes disappointment is to be had with being a fan, because ultimately what happens In a show , story, franchise, in out of our hands. Children shows like MLP I think muddle that a bit, and we often conveniently forget a simple truth. The show is meant for kids, not us adults. We should be thankful that their is something for us, but we should never forget that it could be so much worse.
Now that my rant is over, sorry for the slow, slow pace of updates. I've been distracted by Navy stuffs, games, stories, and by far the most distracting, inspirations of new stories. If I have to name a weakness, it is I'm always seeking a new idea, at the cost of stopping another. I want to assure my readers I STILL am writing Borders and NiGHTS, but now I have at least five other stories I want to work on, several one shots, one or two moderate crossover stories, and fleshing out what happened before my story "duality". But those are worked on sparingly (often when I forget the memo pads that serve as the first drafts of my two primary stories.) So please be patient, it will be sometime before anything is updated but I promise you it will be.
Thanks for your time.
