Hi everyone!
I'm breaking my fimfiction hiatus for a bit to give you an update on what's going on with writing and life and stuff.

ENCHANTED LIBRARY
As some of you may know, Enchanted Library went through a VERY ROUGH patch a few weeks ago, where I cancelled it for a day or so, and then I talked it out with a few lovely readers who expressed concerns. Essentially, I sorta burned out and my insecurities got the best of me, but I've managed to work my way out of it. Things might change a bit dynamic wise, so what's gonna happen is that once I post a chapter, I'll take a breather from fimfic for a few days or so, and then come back and answer comments/concerns/etc etc...
As for the next chapter, since it's a... very delicate chapter, I'm only just starting to work on it since I really want it to turn out as perfectly as I can manage. I can't afford to slack off or be lazy. I HOPE to get it out this month.
Though the sidestory story is getting an update very soon, so be excited for a cute one-shot soonish. Also it's getting a new cover-art which you can see a WIP of down below AND IT'S SO GREAT IT IS SO GREAT IM SO EXCITED. Anyway yes.
General Fics
As of now, I'm working on two small ficlets, because it's my birthday today so I'M GIVING MYSELF SHAMELESSLY FLUFFY FICS. I'm working on finishing one right now, but I need to get editors for it, but hopefully it'll get posted today.

Second, Cheer up, you are a good writer, Monochromatic. Those insecurities have nothing on you. Take your time and don't worry much about writing taking longer than you think it should.

On a side note...what's with the blue fur on Raritys legs? I figured they'd be a darker white, or at least the same color as her mane....but blue? It so totally clashes with her coat and mane

It's a good thing you have a soft, delicate touch then, isn't it?
Wishing you the most fabulous of birthdays, darling! Surely you must know that the ponydom is most grateful to you for enduring the arduous process of creating perfection. I, for one, live for EL updates. Why just the very thought of its cancellation necessitated several hours between the fainting couch and the spa!

Not sure if this is what you experienced but I had a tough spot in my own larger story where I was really shaken by a handful of comments telling me to knock off the fluffy shipping subplots, this isn't what I signed on to read, split your stories, yadda yadda yadda, and then I made a blog post that I was considering doing so. Suddenly I got a huge outpouring of folks begging that I not change a thing, which left me confused. I went back through the comments and likes and follows and all that and it suddenly dawned on me that for every vocal negative, there were like 5 or 6 relatively quiet fans that just wanted me to keep going as I was, so I said screw it and have just been writing stuff how it comes out of my head and posting it shamelessly
The point is, all your stories are amazing, don't second guess yourself or compromise the story you want to make just to appease folks. I can't wait to keep reading, especially once we get to some ghostly smooches!

Don't ever let your insecurities get the best of you, Mono. You are a phenomenally talented writer, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, yourself included. Everything you've put to pen (pixels would probably be more accurate
) has been a wonderful read for me personally, and you're the one responsible for getting me to begin seeking out Rarity + TS ships to begin with.
Always remember that there is a large number of us who'd like to see you happy, care about you, and want you to stick around. If you ever doubt yourself, we're here for you.
