Author Update 7/4/16 - Starlight Glimmer et al. · 4:29am Jul 5th, 2016

Hey friends. Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone is doing well.

First off, I know it's pretty late, but I wanna say thanks to everyone who read and faved and upvoted and commented (*gasp*) on Starlight Glimmer Battles Existential Dread at Sunrise. I was hoping that I would catch a few readers with a title like that, and it's nice to know that you guys liked the story enough to put it in the Featured Box for the better part of a week.

This was my first ever attempt at writing Starlight Glimmer, and I'd like to think that I did pretty well...? Maybe? Enough to make a few people smile, at least. :raritywink:

After the break: BronyCon, wrestling, and my nightmares coming to life. Also a picture of Fluttershy!

As I write this, I gotta admit: I'm hella anxious. Tomorrow I start my first real teaching job, and Christ above I'm scared. In the past, I've only ever served as an assistant to people who know better than me. But now? I'm teaching three different classes on three different subjects (theatre, writing, and improv), made up of kids aged eight to fourteen.

me tomorrow at 9 AM

I've done everything I can to prepare, and yet the anxiety still chokes me—what if I go through my lesson plan too quickly and have nothing to do? What if I don't know how to answer something they ask? What if they're bored and hate the class? These fears are probably completely unfounded, but still. I'm lucky that I've got a team of smart assistants to help me. If I end up passing out three minutes into my first class, at least I can trust them to take over and hopefully stop the bleeding. :moustache:

In any case, it's coming, and I can't avoid it. Wish me luck on my first day.

As I've mentioned previously, I'll be at BronyCon this year! I'm getting in to Baltimore at about noon on Friday, and I'll be leaving at noon on Sunday. I'm gonna be staying with a friend out of town, so no wild hotel parties for me. :ajsmug:

I really don't have much planned, so you can expect to find me in Quills and Sofas most of the time. On Friday I'm going to an Orioles game with a few other writers, and Saturday I'm going out to dinner with some peeps, but I should be around most of every other day.

I hope to see some of you there! Look for the asshole with the poofy hair and the Sami Zayn shirt.

In other miscellaneous news: new fic coming relatively soon! Just waiting on coverart now, then I'm gonna submit to EqD and coordinate it being posted there with it being posted here. Hope you all like it.

For however few wrestling fans that follow me: I'm gonna be at the first live Smackdown! show on July 19th. If you're in the arena as well, come say hi!

Talk to all of you soon! Be safe. Love you.

Best of luck with the teaching job; I know exactly how nerve-wracking a position like that is at first! Getting a feel for how to flow the lesson plans should help with that, and that'll come in time.

I'm sure you'll be amazing at it dude. and I'll keep an eye out for ya in Q&S n_n

I look forward to catching you at Bronycon!

It'll be cool to see you at the con!
