New Story: Dead Nuthatch · 1:24am Jul 20th, 2016
I tried something new.
This is one of the two stories I started writing on the way home from Trotcon. I got about a paragraph and a sentence in, then forgot what I was doing because my blood sugar crashed. (Curse you, Tim Hortons, and your delicious crullers!)
So I finished it today. Then I let it sit for like eight hours and edited it. Then I posted it and edited it again. I wasn't planning to post it on its own, but I found that perfect cover art (it's literally the first image result for "dead nuthatch") and decided it was worth sticking my neck out. I can't hide behind editors and pre-readers and stuff all the time, right?
Anyway, it's like Persephone in that it leans really heavily on that SoL tag. It's about Fluttershy and nature and dealing with the bad things that just happen because they happen. It really is based on a true story, except I am not a silly pony. Or maybe I am. I feel like I was channelling someone, anyway. Not sure who.
