I'm looking into convulsive therapy, where they shock your brain to make you spasm and for some reason it also makes you not sad all the time anymore. It has the highest success rate of any depression treatment, but you tend to lose some short-term memories as you do it, so it's obviously not a first resort.
It's almost a done deal that I'm going to do it, and probably before the end of the year. There's a more benign version of ECT that uses MRI technology instead of shocks, but I just got an implant last year which is incompatible with MRI (the implant for the teeth pain) so that's not on the table. The implant's success has been questionable (I'm on a little more than half as much meds as I used to be, but with great effort), but given that ECT will work if the other version would and not vice-versa, I don't think ripping it out in order to take the magnetic alternative to ECT would be a wise decision at this point.
In theory, it should also make my mane poofier!
That said, depression has indeed been delaying things on the story front, but I have been working steadily on several stories.
There's an epic-length story (T, Adventure, future of Equestria) I've been meaning to start since I came to FimFiction, but I had originally intended to do it in a Homestuck-like format so I could put art in with the story parts. I started it on tumblr two or three years ago but pulled it when I moved everything here.
Questions About That Thing
* Should I do the story here on FimFiction?
* If so, should I take suggestions from the audience as actions for the characters (I'd choose from among the audience suggestions after each small chapter), or try to make it into a more traditional format?
* Either way, should I add images to it, or use prose only? Adding images would slow it down a little at first, but would add wolf scribbles which might be worth a few hundred words each.
If the answer to the middle question is 'yes' to the former part, then I'll be doing the story privately to begin with until I've hit the 1,000 word limit for publication. That way my current followers would get first crack at directing the action of the story. However, I'm only interested in doing this if it doesn't seem too gimmicky to intrigue y'all.
You should definitely put it up! I can't say one way or the other on the images, though.
Images would be cool, but you do what you feel is best.
I'd say throw it here!
As far as audience suggestion: personally I'm not an advocate or it, since it could clash with the original artistic intent.
As for images, I've seen successful stories on here that incorporate images in them, so go for it!

Why wouldn't you? Unless you want 2 do flash animations or some other fancy web stuff.

I think that's a lot of what "homestuck-like" means.

Images if you're going for homestuckness.

Duh?

lolno. At least not to strictly choose from reader suggestions. Inevitably, it'll get derailed horribly. But taking ideas from the audience is still a great idea. I've done that a lot in my most popular story (because, you know, there were enough comments to make that possible). I picked and chose, and sometimes didn't use anything at all, which I'm guessing is what you aim to do. But yeah, if you mean to limit yourself and the story to just the options that the readers might suggest... well, readers are dumb. I mean- did I say that? I LOVE YOU LOYAL READERS!

Well you know what they say, pics or didn't happen. Images are always awesome in a story!
Good luck with your lightning therapy. Don't worry, sooner or later one of the treatments will give you superpowers.
Careful with the Homestuck thing; Hussie was an inexhaustible army of children in a trench coat. Whatever you do, post it on Fimfiction if you can. We'll surely read it.
Homestuck itself didn't run on user suggestions, and I suspect Hussie had been heading that way the more he got confident in his own storytelling. I'd only take reader input if you REALLY are set on it; the impression I got was that at most it was a spring board for the authors vision, and quickly became unhelpful once things got going.
