I'm around, just not here a lot

Just figured out the discord server link on my page expired. Who knew? Anywho, this isn't really me making any sort of announcement other than the link is working again. Lots of life stuff going on that's keeping me from creating, but I'm not against people wanting to come talk to me about anything really. Maybe it's about a story of mine, maybe you just wanna chat. Either way, I'll be in my

What's that? I'm not dead? Weird.

Well, I'm releasing a story that's gone unpublished for over a year. I only have the first couple of chapters, and I don't know how to write the rest. Mostly because I'm not meant to write the rest. It'll make more sense when you see the story, but... I need essays.

    Streams

Well. Streaming. I've been thinking about doing streams for my writing, where I just work on writing and you all can watch me type if you want. Of course, periodically updating a google doc that you all would have access to. First story that I'd be writing for would probably be Shimmering on, seeing as I have a good amount of that chapter ready for y'all.

the atmosphere of the cave is dark and oppressive, the air is heavy and your breathing erratic. The sound of soft moaning somewhere deep within the twisting cave system sets your hair on end. Your nerves fray each time you hear it, the soft sound seemingly getting louder... closer. It sounds... human. It sounds pained, agonizingly slow and dreadful.

the atmosphere of the cave is dark and oppressive, the air is heavy and your breathing erratic. The sound of soft moaning somewhere deep within the twisting cave system sets your hair on end. Your nerves fray each time you hear it, the soft sound seemingly getting louder... closer. It sounds... human. It sounds pained, agonizingly slow and dreadful.

Your lantern pierces only a portion of the darkness in front of you. You almost curse it for making anything past that near impossible to see.

You grip the knife in your hand even tighter, glancing down at the glinting blade. You have to wonder why you would need to use such a thing, but... who knows? Maybe carrying it around is all for nothing? Regardless, the one who gave it to you... he'll want it back, and It is better to be safe, rather than sorry. Your fingers twitch uncomfortably around the knife at the thought of having to use it, but you ignore the unsettling thought.

You pause momentarily, blood running cold as you listen. Where once there were moans, now the cave seems to be drenched in a chilling silence. The silence is broken as you hear slow, heavy, footsteps. You push yourself forward in silent determination marred by anxious fear.

As the footsteps halter your lantern illuminates a figure standing in your way. A farmer, with blood stained onto her overalls and a knife dripping with the same dreaded substance. After a moment of horrified silence you manage to utter out a question.

"Why do you have blood on your overalls?"

She looks up, seemingly noticing you for the first time. She slowly blinks and looks at her knife hesitantly. She drops her hand, but doesn't dare drop the knife. She looks you in the eyes and you can't help but be disturbed by the lifeless gaze she shoots you, seemingly searching your soul for the answer.

"Why else?"

She doesn't move into a threatening position, but the answer still puts you on edge. You slightly raise your knife for protection, but she doesn't even flinch. Gulping down the lump forming in your throat you try to ask another question.

"Why do you have a knife?"

She looks at the wretched tool, watching the blood drip off the tip methodically.

"I don't know... He gave it to me, but I don't think he expected me to use it."

Her slow, methodical movements send a chill down your back. Her seemingly inhuman behavior only raise your guard. The calm way she holds the weapon, watching the life juice of another spill onto the floor listlessly. She tries to laugh inneffectually, the sound coming out something halfway between a choked sob and a cough. She raises her head back up and looks me in the eye, the smallest of smiles daring to grace her lips at the thought before falling down into a tight lipped frown.

"I heard moans, what have you done?

She mulls this over in silence, for a bit. The silence is hard and long, the stuffy atmosphere suffocating my hope as she looks down at the knife she's holding. Hanging her head she sways for a moment before raising her head to look at the ceiling. She closes her eye's with a thoughtful hum. She looks back down at me with something of a bittersweet smile before answering.

"The right thing, I hope."

The smile falls after a second, her visage that of confliction. She shakes her head and looks at me once more with a cold tight lipped frown. What will you do?

Let her Pass? Or Attack?

Shoutout to Divine Path for the idea. This is a continuation of her post, based off a game that has the exact same name as this blog post. Narratively, the game mechanic is interesting. And free to play on steam. *cough*totally not a promotion*cough* That's weird, unimportant spoiler box... ignore that. As for my stories... I don't want to say I'm stuck. I really don't... but I am. With school coming up, and life...You didn't hear it from me, but life can be an ass sometimes. So, yeah. I'll get back into the swing of things at some point, but it might take a while. Which isn't to say I won't be around, I might even make more blog posts just to keep writing... but It might be a while before I get back into the swing of actually writing.

TL;DR:
I suck. This Person Doesn't.
Also, I'd totally love if you guys took a turn with this. Even if as nothing more than an exercise in writing. Be sure to tell me if you do.

I'd go for letting her pass. I think you spared the previous farmer, but euthanised Julia.
And no, you don't suck.:derpytongue2:

well, I mean... if you were the first farmer... No? I mean, I attacked, so... yeah. Sorry, not sorry.

Ah, so you did. I assume you killed Julia as well, at least. Still, I'd have let you go on basis of those answers.
Hope you get back in form soon~ (By the way, you seem to switch narrator by the middle~)

I found it, but I don't know when I'll have time to play it...
