Try Monster Hunter without being able to talk to anyone. You have to constantly look out for party ques and the FUCKING GIANT monster coming your way. With bladed teeth and a volcano strapped to its back. Or you know, just covered in a battleship, looping around a mountain, all kinds of stuff. It can be really fun.

4145416 Yeah, Monster Hunter 4 is good. It's supposed to be easier to get into than the previous ones, but if you can shill out for it, MH Generations is better. They implemented two main mechanics in MHG, that completely changes how you fight Monsters. One is basically a universal easy mode called the prowler. And the other changes the main mechanics of how you use your weapon: Hunter Arts. However, it's not as fun, (in my opinion), to solo. MH is a very...I guess 'local play' kind of game. Like if you manage to get four Dank Souls players together in a room that all wanted to play Dark Souls at the same time, only with less glitch and just slightly more forgiving bosses at lower levels, (you'd call 'em ranks). I highly recommend it, but try to feel out if there are any players nearby that are still on 4 if you really want to play that version, and make group get togethers a thing. I'd play online myself if it weren't for my area having really shitty internet connections. We always seem to get around halfway through a quest if I don't play local before some minute change happens to the internet and I get cut out.

Honestly, this kind of shit is basically the norm for any kind of online play, although it tends to be worse with games that are more about fast twitch responses and perfect mechanical execution than planning and cooperation, and the more popular a game gets the worse the problem becomes. Shooters tend to fall prey to this quite badly since execution is 99% of the game, although it is hardly unique to them. I used to play League of Legends a while back, but Riot gradually shifted the game away from thinking, planning, and cooperation as they made more changes to it over the years and the result is that the overall depth of play has been reduced and the community has gotten more and more childish as a result (although the increasing popularity and poor community management hasn't helped matters).

I got into League with a few friends back before it went completely to shit and stuck with it for longer than I should have due to inertia, but I am definitely with you on it at this point.
