I'm travelling to Las Vegas today for a work conference, so I get to wait a little bit longer to see the season finale, but I did want to commandeer an Internet connection long enough to share some awesome news.
Y'all remember my Writeoff-winning Cloverlestia historical romance Time Enough For Love? Or do you remember a month or two back when I teased that I'd gotten some gorgeous cover art commissioned for it? Well, Nadnerb just posted the finished art to DA, and I just completed the new scenes and edits for Chapter 2 (out of a planned four), so it's time to start dropping some honest-to-goodness story teasers around here!

Clover the Clever never asked for his life to get so complicated. It was bad enough tricking Imperatrix Celestia, war-goddess of the Three Tribes, out of her drunken coup against Queen Platinum. But now Celestia's come back and traded her claim on the sun for a chance to woo him.
On top of that, Star Swirl's saddled him with a mysterious magical necklace and a uniquely bleak and pointless prophecy: If he's brave enough, and if he's clever enough, he just might survive Celestia's attentions for long enough to break her heart.
My work and weekend schedules are both insane until mid-November, but I'm excited at the editing progress, and with art this gorgeous there's just no way I can let the story languish. As soon as this conference is over, I'm gonna pin down a publication date and get a pre-reader or two to double-check the new material.
Speaking of TEFL and Writeoffs, if you've been keeping up on the site you might have noticed a suspiciously familiar name in this month's medalists. Yep -- CoffeeMinion's "Time Enough For Wub" is something of an homage to my time-travel romance, and while it doesn't share the same continuity or structure, it's still a fun read about a lovingly cracked ship (namely, the S.S. ScratchSwirl, which has now permanently sailed into my headcanon fleet). I am given to understand that's also in editing, and I'll be sure to let you all know when it makes the jump to FIMFic.

Oh, that cover art is magnificent. Definitely looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Oof. Have a nice time in Las Vegas! Or just... avoid getting whirled around too badly by travel and the city. Either or both.
(And I'm having to carefully dodge finale talk myself; I have the season pass on Google Play, which seems to have a day of delay versus broadcast proper.)
And that art is... promising-looking.
I shall instantly add the story to my "read later" pile once it shows up! Semi-instantly, at least. Instantly by most dragon lifespan standards. That's close enough, right?
