Seeing this should be giving me emotions. Maybe disappointment at Chrysalis falling in line like the other villains. Maybe being glad that she denies it at the last second. Maybe just being upset that it's Starlight Glimmer she's talking to, and not Twilight or someone.
But really, I just don't care. I have zero emotional response to this.
I think this really may be it. Bye, MLP. It's been fun. But you've outlived your enjoyability, and there are much better shows out there now.
I get your disillusionment, but quitting because of season six? It's a season written by new writers, directed by new directors. The were going to fuck it up, there was never any doubt. In any case, go well, and find greener pastures.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Still, I hope you don't let this season take away the emotional resonance provided by what came before.
Yeah, season 6 didn't exactly inspire a "Must watch every week" response from me (though the fandom is still fertile enough that I find myself coming up with random pony fiction ideas I'd like to see)
I like seeing you around, and seeing your blog, so hopefully you'll still hang around the fandom? If not, then best of luck with your original writing!
Does this mean you're not writing anymore, or just not watching the show anymore? Remember that fanfics are alternate universes and have the right to be different from the show.
Um, I'm pretty sure MLP won't end. Even though season 6 had lost its spark, there are still a lot of die-hard fans out there. And season 6 was also kinda a cliff hanger, so we'll probably see more of Chrysalis in the next season.
4269064 It's not so much that they fucked anything up (that I know of, anyway) and more just that the show has become... boring for me, I guess is the best way to put it. It feels like we're getting mediocre rehashes of older, better episodes, (The one exception being 28 Pranks Later, which was a mild improvement on Mare-Do-Well) and then the stuff with Starlight Glimmer, except I still can't see her as anything but the creepy cult leader and can't really feel invested in her 'reformed' person and struggles. Which is unfortunate since it looks like the show's going to be focusing on her more now anyway.
4269096 I'm going to do my best not to
Admittedly my interest in MLP as a whole has been flagging lately, but I don't want to just let it all go quite yet.

4269207 I think this is it for me watching the show, but I will definitely still try to keep writing on here. Contrast, OR, TAS, TSoI, all stories I want to continue on with.
4269529 Certainly. I'm just saying that I personally don't plan to keep watching, unless they do something truly interesting in S7 and/or the movie.
4270001 Right there with you, but then, I've been operating on season two ideas for four years. One fic I even allowed to hit post season three! Point is, canon is silly, not even the writers truly care about what they introduce, so feel free to cherrypick.
4270001 Yeah, a large percentage of the season has just been slice-of-life. I hop they make it interesting.
4270794 A big percentage of the show as a whole is Slice Of Life. The genre isn't the problem; more that the writing itself just feels... lacking, compared to prior seasons. Idunno.
