Should have gone with my dad and sister today, but not feeling great. They've gone to the annual duck races at Strathalbyn, South Australia put on by the local Rotary Club. You place a bet on a plastic numbered duck pay a couple dollars (all goes to charity) if your duck gets through the end gate first you win the big donated prize, simple...yes? Not quite, it's held in a local creek with a weir at each end of the park it's in to keep water levels up year round for picnickers and water flow is not always guaranteed plus wind sometimes interferes. Best solution is a wind machine in the form of something like a Florida everglades air-boat. They even have a corporate event where a hunters decoy duck is decorated and entered by a local business. as a early lead up event for the day.
