'Cuz why not?
I avoided doing this earlier in the month because I knew I was going to go on vacation for a long weekend and I wasn't sure how that would mess up writing production. Then the whole thing with Darcy happened and well...I haven't gotten much done lately. I thought last month was pretty poorly, production-wise, but this month is going to take some serious buckling down to catch up in the last two weeks.
But let's take a gander at where we are at the moment, shall we?
In October, I pumped out a little over 9K words, which is kinda pathetic, even though I finished up Dazzling Sunset chapter 9, the 4th chapter of Hoofsteps in the Dark, and Scary Butt Fun. I also put down outlines and got started on a new project, worked on My Little Dynamite: Book Two, worked on some upcoming Crackshipping & You, and wrote something for the short OF WriteOff (though I didn't enter it). So I guess I used that 9K well? Even so, I feel like I should be doing more than that. I know work had me strung out to dry on multiple projects at once, but still...less than 10K is inexcusable.
All in all, October wasn't a bad month. Far from it, in fact! I had a huge amount of success with Scary Butt Fun and got plenty of love for the chapter updates too. I gained 31 new followers, spent a little time in the Feature Box on two separate occasions, and had 24K+ story views. That is absolutely nothing to cry over!
But what of November? What about the rest of 2016, the-worst-year-on-record-by-pretty-much-every-other-measure?
Well...honestly...it doesn't look half bad. Outside some sort of catastrophic disaster, there isn't anything on my horizons that should affect writing production in any significant way. All the huge work projects are done with and I only have a few things to deal with for the company's physical move to some new office space. It's barely even going to affect my commute. I'm not traveling for the holidays, at least not more than a day trip to see my sisters, if that happens at all.
So, what am I working on?
First up, more chapters for on-going stories. A Dazzling Sunset chapter 10 is in the works with ~3.5K words as of right now. Probably 4K by the time I go to bed. I tentatively have that pinned for release at the end of the month, or possibly the 1st of December. My Little Dynamite: Book Two is chuggling along with ~2K in the next chapter, due out tomorrow. Alicorn Switcheroo's ultimate chapter will be out sometime mid-December. I just need to make sure all the loose ends are properly tied up. And the last chapter of Hoofsteps in the Dark should grace the site some time around the start of December. No more waiting until the next Halloween.
I also have the next chapters for both Spicy Tuna Roll and Chemistry basically ready. By "basically", I mean mostly written, but in high need of a face lift as some of those words are well over a year old at this point. I've been keeping them on the back burner while I got other stuff out of the way, and that's almost done now.
When it comes to new stuff from the Fuzz, there are more than a few things on the list.
That Fleurdance fic I started on months ago is over 10K words, so it's close to a 3rd done at this point.
I also have several Crackshipping & You entries to polish up: LunaBelle, Sunata, SugarFleur, AppleDagio, Lunatic, EmbeRarity, FleurFinish, and NightmareChrysalis. The first three are done, the rest outlined, and EmbeRarity is about 1/2 done already.
Pinkie Pie Loves Bacon Bits is going to be a small collection of minifics with Pinkie loving Sunset's bits. It's already about 2K words in out of...maybe 3-5K?
Syquil may also end up as a place for me to shove all the 'moar' content that gets called for in the comment section of my fics...
There are a few other things, but right now, they aren't much on my mind, so we'll just have to see.
