    Words in print

Recently, I've been asked for permission by Avonder to include Whom The Princesses Would Destroy... in a story anthology he's putting together. I'm not one for hoarding words and I gave it quite, quite gladly.

    You'll find it here.

    Now(TM) with Travel Advice

I'm safely ensconced in my hotel room in Ludwigsburg. Hope to meet at least some of you. To increase the odds of this happening, I offer the following advice:

    Soon(TM)

I will be flying to Galacon 2018 in under twelve hours and I expect I will be safely in Ludwigsburg within 24 hours. I will be hard to contact during this period, though I think I've acquired a method of fool-proof Internet access no matter where I am (aside from six miles straight up, of course).

Hope to see many of you soon!

    Happy July 20th!

...or July 21st, depending on your timezone.

49 years ago the first manned Moon landing was accomplished. It is one of my favorite moments in history (To learn about my favorite you may have to wait for December the 9th), and to celebrate I've re-edited Hoofprints to be a little less... ah, draft-y.

Survey & Exciting Story-Generating Opportunity · 3:28am Dec 15th, 2016

Yes. I know I'm late. I'm in a different timezone and my sleep schedule is out of wack. So, really, I'm in an entirely alien timezone. Neptune, say.

Bad Horse is making a survey for World Dominat ENTIRELY LEGITIMATE REASONS. Please consider filling it out. It's fun! You get to air your opinions and advance the cause of destruction of all who opp friendship.

Go on. You know you want to. Be the master of all that you

(No, I couldn't resist.)

Not interested? Busy? Let me help nudge you towards the side of minionship justice: If Bad Horse gets his 1000 supplicants lovely pony fans goal I will write a story on the subject of your[1] choice.

Or I won't write the story. Whichever option entices you the most, my writing being what it is.

[1] You being the people reading this, and your choice determined by whichever idea gets the most upvotes - downvotes. The usual caveats apply: e.g. no, I won't write clop.

I took it!

My story suggestion will be, as always, "Ms. Apple goes to Canterlot" in which Applejack is selected as Ponyville's MP.

I have taken the survey. It was pretty neat!

Well, I would love to see a story about Dotted Line puzzling out what to do with/who the hay owns the kingless self-proclaimed kingdom of Griffonstone.

In the event that no such city-state exists in the same universe as Dotted Line, I'd love to see him arguing and/or parleying with his opposite numbers among the gryphons.

I have already taken this survey!

I would suggest you write a story where a character of your choice is kept awake by the very loud sound of hooves on the new sort of road surfacing outside his or her domicile.

Wouldn't mind a Christmas shipfic. I want to see who you put under the mistletoe.

I took it before everyone else and gave feedback :ajsmug:

This looks interesting; hopefully the results won't be too skewed.

:DD
I can't come up with a specific suggestion, but I just want a Celestia fic from you so bad. I'll take anything! Short, silly, pointless--she can even share the spotlight with as many ponies as you want! Just something, pleeeeaaaase :raritycry:

I'd like to see your take on the classic romantic comedy tropes. Dotted Line is subtly (or not so) manipulated by Celestia into finally asking Ambassador Mkali on a date. The rest of the Civil Service goes into overdrive to intercept any possible problem that would prevent or interrupt the date.

I'd like to see your take on reactions to one of the world-threatening events of the series: Discord's release. The Civil Service needs to field questions in Parliament, complaints from all around the world, and even a few things from Fluttershy herself - like renewing her veterinary certification, or getting a license for something vaguely prompted by Discord. Of course, as she's an Element of Harmony, they're always ready to be at her service - but still, they can't openly stop all the important ponies pelting her with questions...

(And yes, I've taken the survey too!)

I took the survey, and I propose a Sharktavia fic.

I find that writing something long and ongoing promotes writing discipline. So do that, I know you have ideas. :)

I'd like to see your take on reactions to one of the world-threatening events of the series: Discord's release.

Kind of like the Palaververse, only with the Civil Service instead of world leaders?

I'd like to see the two touch, with the Civil Service dealing with the whims and confusions of other races.

Having taken the survey, I'd love to see something from your Celestia's perspective. I'm not sure what the circumstances should be; I'd just like to see what it's like in her head.

4340511 Also having taken the survey, I would like to second this motion.
And just in case that one is too specific, this one too: 4340269

Building on these, how about, "Celestia is forced to go on vacation for the first time in a very long while. Shenanigans ensue."

took it. Anything you would want to write is OK with me. I have full and utter trust in your ability to deliver enjoyable prose.

My suggestion: Dotted Line gets stuck with Discord for a day. Only good things can happen when something random meets something professional :B I dunno. Maybe Fluttershy had to leave Discord to his own devices, nobody wanted to hang out with him and then he got passed down the line, as is what happens with crap jobs irl. Like coralling a giant pissed off python on the runway back into its shipping crate. Nobody wants to deal with that. Dotted Line just happens to be end of the line. Or, y'know, he could pass him to his friend Lofty(? I forgot his name. The pegasus with an affiliation for jam), because that is what best friends do. Also lessons are learned. Sure. Why not.

Oh, and Ghost? You have given me more than enough incentive for that survey to hit a thousand. At first I thought it would be funny to simply see it go kablooie! from the sheer amount of people and BH have a hell of a time with all that data, but now that there is storycrafting involved... ;)

And sure. I want to see BH succeed. Sure. I guess.

Filled it in :)

Filled it in, for what it is worth, given I am the pretty much definitive square peg (by decision and somewhat to not be a rouind peg for any hole that would have me being a securing object... or something).

Dotted Line, nearing retirement, is assigned to Twilight's castle to help the newest Princess shoulder the ever-increasing burden of her duties.

He's dutiful, and he knows it's important, but he can't help feeling he's been rusticated (and he has--due to overwork: Celestia won't have him drop in the traces however much he might want to).

The story begins when he enters Sugarcube Corners on a cold early spring evening, with the eaves spouting but the only green is the holly tree. In a quite inner room in an ingelnook, he finds...someone who used to be Mayor Mare, until she lost an election to rising star Apple Bloom.

And the story is the two of them learning what they have in common.

Inspired by Johnny Flynn's "After Eliot."
