    I'm not dead, I swear!

Though for about half a year there I was either homeless/without the internet, so there is that. I'm still getting back into the swing of things but I'm going to do my best to get back to writing as soon as I can. Just wanted y'all to know the situation and assure everyone I am, in fact, okay.

    Shout Out

Just wanted to give my thanks to both Sipioc and Mix-up for designing and coloring the Cutie Mark for Artemis. They took my very, very vague idea of what it would be and turned it into a reality

    Regarding My Lack of Chapters

I've just suffered a loss in the family quite recently, my older brother, in fact, and before that it was my maternal grandmother. I'm not looking for sympathy by posting this, I just wanted everyone to know why I haven't posted anything in so long. Thank you all for the continued interest in the story, but while I was working on the next chapter, I don't know if I'll be able to finish it for

    Hey everyone

You'll all be glad to know that I've started work on the next chapter finally. The last few weeks have been...interesting, to say the least, but I've finally done more than sit on my hands while staring at my monitor for once. No idea when I'll be finished, of course, but hey, it's a start right? Thanks for the continued support and I wish you all the best as we move into spring.

An apology to all my readers · 3:02am Dec 28th, 2016

You've likely seen what recently transpired in To Know Hell's comment section. I could have honestly handled it better, I will admit, but I can't stand it when someone talks down to someone else. Calling comments pointless was not a judgement levied at my readers or anyone else and I apologize to you all regarding how callous my use of the word came across as. Honestly, it's hard to describe how I feel about comments in general. I don't really have a problem with them even if there's no real "point" to them beyond saying whether you liked the story or not, but to me comments should be more than that when it comes to this site's format and stories in general. I don't need to be showered with constant praise, even if it is nice, nor do I mind if you don't like it, but I'd appreciate feedback that tells me the hows and whys. It helps me grow as a writer and, by extension, put out better content for you all to enjoy. I apologize again for the rude tone of my posts and hope you won't hate me for this misstep on my part. If you wish to discontinue reading my work as a result then I understand perfectly and so I'll simply close this out by wishing each and every one of you the best in the days to come.

I must have missed all of this some how. I don't think any of my comments offended you in any way but I'm sorry if some of them weren't as helpful as you would've liked generally I only comment on something if I have something funny to say or I think something was done really well or really badly and I do try to explain my reasoning as well. I'll be sticking around and I look forward to more content from you.

4358441 You didn't offend me, so don't worry about it. A misunderstanding happened due to the limitations of text as a means of conveying meaning. Basically I fucked up with my response to something I misunderstood, which made it worse, then I came back with something rather childish and hopefully it's now resolved. All I can do is try to be better about my reactions in the future.

Sounds like you need another cat to cheer you up. How about a plush one this time.

We'll forgive you if you post next chapter soon!

While I can understand (and to some degree, sympathise with) the need for validation, if anything I have more respect for an author who doesn’t need constant fellation.

If you wish to discontinue reading my work as a result…

There are people who’ll drop a story they’ve been thoroughly enjoying because an author has limited patience for meaningless platitudes? Really? :ajbemused: Unless you were an absolute cunt about it I have difficulty believing anyone to be that petty. Don’t worry so much.

4359905 What can I say? I have a talent for being overly dramatic :twilightblush:

I think this was more a case of you being a worrywart than a drama queen. Admittedly, the two can go hand‐in‐hand… :trollestia:

4359910 Ha, don't I know it :rainbowlaugh:

Well, like you said in one of the comments at the end of that shit-storm, "To err is to be human." We've done some stuff we aren't proud of, at least your acknowledging it and apologising. Now, I do have a question, of you take the time to ever read this comment. When Celestia hands out the punishment to Artemis, many people, including myself, found her punishment to be unfair, as she punished him but not Luna. Apart from sister-sister favoritism, is there going to be an explained reason as to why Artemis was slapped with 200 years community service, and Luna was left pretty much untouched? Because, and sorry if I reiterate other comments here, Celestia's punishment seems cruel, and it seems like the only thing that saved Artemis from either being executed or sent back to the moon was both Luna saying that if he were sent back, she should be as well, and Celestia's manipulative nature. And if it were simply looking out for the common good, then just execute him. He's more of a liability than an asset right now. Unable to read, most likely reduced magical power, doesn't actually have a purpose in that world. Luna I could understand getting the 200 year punishment, she at least manipulates dreams and can move the moon. As far as we know, Artemis cannot manipulate dreams, so he's inferior to Luna. But, that's just my thoughts. If you read through all that, then you have the patience of a saint for reading through what is basically a run-on paragraph.

4361662 I can understand why people think that way, but I promise the whys and hows of Celestia's motivations will be explored in future chapters. Also, thanks to you and everyone else for being understanding of my, erm, hiccup. Not one of my prouder moments, lemme tell ya :twilightblush:
