I can't speak On behalf of Ender Knight, but he's not the first person to do this sort of thing.

Normally, it's to try and drum up support for the user, by faking an attack from an outside source. People turn up and support the one faking the attack, making them feel more appreciated.

It's an attempt at getting attention, basically.

Other options include them wanting to stir up trouble, and cause resentment against the group/persons supposedly "attacking" them, but I can't really say what Ender Knight's motivations might have been.

I'm pretty damn sure my friend did not have that intention himself. Just like he said in 4365193, and in one of his blogs, he clearly was trying to call Ender Knight out for his faulty actions.

He doesn't even know the guy, so why would he enjoy an extension of his ban in the first place?
