NFL Playoffs - Night One Recap · 4:35am Jan 8th, 2017
So I figured I'm a really big football guy, so why not do a little thing for all of you who might not be caught up?
Oakland Raiders (12-4) @ Houston Texans (10-7): Nobody was expecting anything good out of this game. Oakland's MVP quarterback Derrick Carr went out two weeks ago with a broken leg, and their backup Matt Mcgloin went out last week with an injury. The game was up to third string rookie quarterback Connor "Captain" Cook. On the other side of the ball, the Texans had spectacular failure Brock "Lobster" Osweiler, who they had got from Denver for a whopping $75 Million. This was not going to be a fun game no matter how you sliced it. Two subpar QB's facing off against each other, and the winner has the honor of being publicly executed at Foxboro against the Patriots next week. Needless to say it was a shitshow ending 27-14 in favor of the Texans, only because their defense was good enough to only allow paltry garbage time points for the Raiders.
Detroit Lions (9-8) @ Seattle Seahawks (11-5-1): Hoo boy! I called this one just earlier this week. Seattle's defense was more than enough to stuff Stafford, and Detroit's weak defense made Seattle's shoddy offense look elite. It ended in a stunning 6-26 defeat of the Lions, not even a touchdown being scored by the boys in silver and blue. It was practically a slaughter, and I loved it all the more. The Lions thought themselves invincible, but their too-easy schedule left them feeling over-confident.
