Plans for a reboot of DOE are underway. It's really more of a spiritual successor, because the characters and plots are very different, they just used DOE as a jumping off point. Don't leave just yet! If you liked DOE, than you're sure to love this one, as it's everything that made DOE good, but polished to perfection. The pacing is going to be better, the chapters will be more descriptive, and the villain should hopefully be interesting and a source of tension instead of an insufferable emo kid we spend every second focusing on. It is going to be bigger, and better than DOE, but there is a catch.
THIS IS GOING TO TAKE TIME. I am currently working on build 0.0.1 of this story (Because I've finally discovered the magic of planning everything out), and I want this build to be significantly more advanced before I even release. Do not expect this in a week or two, as these are the steps I need to go to to ensure maximum quality:
Finish the first rough draft
Run by 3 separate editors/writers to ensure a basic level of quality
Run my own quality check, fix smaller details, improve lesser points of plot cohesion, and polish it.
Finish the second rough draft, adding in major original characters, their stories, arcs, plotlines, etc.
Run by 3 editors/writers
Self-quality check
Finish the third rough draft, which will make sure everything from the first and second drafts meshes well, and does an overall pacing check to make sure that certain chapters aren't to fast or too slow.
Run by 3 editors/writers
Self-quality check
Finish the fourth...
You get the idea. Point is, this is going to take some time, but when the draft is done, it should be a very high quality piece of work. After that I want to try and establish a one chapter buffer rule, so that I don't fall behind on a decent chapter release schedule. Which is another important fact: Chapters are done when they are done, and out when they are out. One of the bigger reasons I lost interest in DOE was because I pushed myself to meet unrealistic release times, and thus suffered stress and creative burnout when writing. No more of that.
Once again, I want to thank all of you who are following and watching me, and supporting my writing as it grows and develops. Hang in there, and you should see this awesome new story sometime in the near future.
Thanks, and Happy Reading!
