Another spontaneous story idea or reading material...

So in my previous journal I asked about Scootadopt fics featuring Octavia and Vinyl, and Rubberization was kind enough to link me to a quite worthy series that centered on just that.

As such I thought I'd try my luck with another idea I've been tossing around while going through my 'to read' list: a lot of pre-season 6 stories that feature Chrysalis being redeemed bring up the issue of if she and her changelings were so desperate for love, why didn't they just ask the ponies for it, instead of invading and trying to take over?

Well, I feel that's a valid question, and I'm wondering if in fact there is a story that explores such an alternate turn of events.

Does anyone know?
