Some of you may have noticed the more than a little fancy new cover art for MLAABQ. It is from viwsrasputr, and I love it dearly. Big, slobbery St Bernard-kisses. They also said that they don't mind me sending more people their way. Art is how they make a living, go give them your money.
Seriously, look at that picture. it's amazing. The three expressions from the different ponies are somber, curious, and comforting. Three of the major moods and themes of the first part. Look at her right eye, her prosthetic eye, how it looks lifeless next to her real one. Also, zoom in enough on Gabe's expression, and there's a hint of a smile on her face. It's perfect! 
I’d like to extend some additional thank yous. To skywriter, who tapped into his pony-network to put me in contact with viwsrasputr as an exchange of favors. To my editors, Eckaji, Snuffy, and Themaskedferret, who helped come up with the concept, as well as other friendly souls who gave feedback on my ideas and let me bounce them of them. Among them are ssokolow, Detsella Morningdew, Aburi, Orbitting Kettle, mastermenthe, keroko, and any other I might’ve missed, thank you 
So, MLAABQ is not dead. I didn’t know how fast it would take to make some cover art, so I set out to write an extra long chapter. It turned into something of a side-story. It’s pretty much finished, and a bit longer than usual. I was planning on publishing it one week from now, but depending on how editing goes, it might be before that.
Feedback from people who’ve pre-read it have been mixed. There have some been some enthusiastic encouragement and assurances that it’s quality stuff, and one set of feedback which can be summed up as ‘bleh’. One bleh might not sound bad, but that’s a significant percentage of the specimen, and considering the limited sample size, it could be even more significant than that.
Even so, this is a deviation from the formula, and for those of you who might share the bleh-sentiment, normal scheduling is planned to resume afterwards.
I plan on writing adventure once the second arc of MLAABQ is finished, and I thought this will be a good practice-session. Never fear though, it’s not a very dark and gory kind of adventure, no throat-slitting or anything like that. In more detail, the next chapter starts out as normal slice of life for about 4000 words, then moves into a mini-adventure, so for those of you who don’t like the thought of cyberpone-action, you can stick to that part, but I hope you’ll all enjoy it
