Johnny blaze

Or

Robbie Reyes

Got to be Johnny, just because he's the original and his transformation looks more realistic and you yourself actually wince at the pain he must be going through. Gotta give credit to Robbie though. A car for his ride, that's pretty cool and a good choice for a modern day Horseman from Hell.

If you're asking which Rider your character should take after, why not just combine elements from both of them? They both have their flaws and benefits. From a visual standpoint Johnny was admittedly the more intimidating rider, with a more visceral initial transformation and slightly more badass gait and bearing. Not to mention that his overall design from the sequel was a vast improvement, it was actually one of the few things that "Spirit of Vengeance" did really well. Yet throughout it all he was held back by the fact that whenever his face wasn't on fire, he was... well... Nicolas Cage. Upside, he can do things like this:

Robby on the other hand had more visually impressive subsequent transformations when compared to Johnny's simple flare ups, or at least the ones from the first movie. Yet while the engravings on his skull are impressive, they're also kind of distracting, which lessens the effect when compared to Johnny's simple yet raw burning skull. Seriously, compare these two gifs and tell me which one gives off the bigger "you're fucked" vibe:

Once you've gotten a good look at the skull as a whole, any decent Ghost Rider design should eventually draw your gaze to the eyes, aka- the source of their greatest power. Yet even with the constant glowing effect in Reyes' sockets my focus was still continually drawn to the lines etched into his skull, to the point it actually took a noticeable effort just to ignore them. There was just too much going on at once with his rider's appearance when compared to the brilliant simplicity of Johnny's charred bone look with its bottomless black pits for eyes.

4479223 my favorite is Johnny blaze

4479311 I see what're you're coming from but Johnny's skull changed over time as where the other guy is still new at this so I think it would be best for him to go with Robbie.

4479600 But we don't actually know what Robby's rider will look like when it's matured, so the only thing we have to go on is his current design. The flaws of which I've already stated. For all we know it could actually get worse once it matures.

4479873 I guess you have a point there we don't know how it will turn out once it has matured.
