I haven't been keeping up too much with season 7 spoilers, so this might be old news. According to Tara Strong on a reddit AMA, we are gonna meet Rainbow's parents in season 7.
Ugh....
Is the Dad named Rainbow Blitz, or will he have a different name? Who will the mother be? How is this going to break my story continuity? WILL I EVEN GET TO THAT PART BY THE TIME THAT EPISODE COMES AROUND?!
I just don't want to have to deviate from canon so close to that canon being revealed. My headcanon says the Mom is Firefly. I was bouncing the idea around of whether or not she should be Rainbow's mom for quite a while until I decided "Why not?" I guess we'll see how much that needs to change soon enough.
Anyway, I totally blew it on getting the next chapter done over spring break. Had all these plans and instead spent that time playing War Thunder. I'm really bad at this commitment to art thing. Don't worry, I'm not putting this on hiatus or discontinuing it or anything. Not even planning on it. Just procrastinating an unhealthy amount. Sorry to keep you waiting.
That said, I am having fun with this chapter. I've received some criticism about the story being too dramatic and heavy. Totally agree. This chapter isn't going to add a comedy tag or anything, but it is a bit more cutesy and light-hearted. I hope.

Rainbows mom is named Windy Whistles and her father is named Bow Hot Hoof. They will be featured in an episode, centered around them being overeager and embarrassing Dash at a wonderbolts show. They confirmed Blaze wasn't her dad, so, we have no idea what his relationship is to her.

I'd take a guess that character was probably her older brother then. I'll have to figure out how to adjust my outline when the episode comes around. This'll be fun.

4495525 I think the trading card game depicts him as her coach and the quote for him is that he taught Rainbow Dash everything she knows. So I'm guessing he was her mentor, a pony she greatly admired and looked up to.
Yeah that was a while back. All I can say is that her parents names...well...
Well as far as Im concerned they're fucking garbage. Lets just hope their models are a bit better eh?

To be honest with ya mate, "Firefly" is widely accepted as to be the name for Rainbow's Mom. Same goes for Rainbow Blitz.
Or as her brother.
To me it will not be much of a change from cannon to fiction.
Personally, I say just do your own thing and treat this fic like a slight AU. I'm really interested im how you've envisioned them. ^_^
