So I've been working on something. It's not quite there yet, but it's getting there. It needs some love, some upgrades, and maybe some bionic enhancements. But it's going to get there.
I'm currently writing a story that's very loosely tied into Countdown. Don't worry, it's not the same vein at all. This story is a prequel to another story I've been writing about Princess Celestia, which birthed this whole thing. Between the three stories, I have well over 100k words set in the same universe, which is frankly bizarre for me. The stories I'm working on right now are about the start of it all. The genesis, if you will.
I usually write god awful pornography, something I will continue to do, and these stories are no different. They contain dark themes, and have a strong mix of magical and science fictional crimes. There will be brainjacking, mind control, bank fraud, biological warfare, technological horrors, and twisted mad-ponies doing unspeakable things. But above all of that, they should provide adventure and heroes.
That's right, I'm going to write stories with good guys in them. Didn't expect that, huh?
The good guys and the bad guys are going to set the stage, what happens after that is up us. A for a few of my stories, people ask if they can use the characters/setting/whatever. And my answer is usually restrictive in some form. But here? Knock yourself out and add to the story! Regular contributors/collaborators will get admin access to the group.
Have a bad guy who hacks into ponies' personal records and blackmails them? A necromancer that likes to equip his zom-ponies with blasters? A starry eyed farm pony confused by the lights and tech in the big city? A high tech detective trying to solve a murderous mystery with his A.I. companion? A half griffon/half cyborg experiment that's escaped/released from Harmony Labs?(Fits their M.O.)... It's all here in the Harmony Combine.
I already made the group, and I'm over 50% on all the stories, the question is "Is this a good idea?"
The story I'm currently writing is really the only "critical" one for other people to work off of, It's the one about the turning point in technology/magic integration. Once that one is posted, anybody can contribute if they want. I do not want "Countdown" to be the first story posted, so I'm going to hold off on that till it's less terrible
I still need to make a terrible group banner and group icon. Maybe update the group page with some fancy stuffs. Off to my Doodle pad!
Let me know if this is a good idea or not. Also, if you really want to get in early, I wouldn't mind feedback/input for the current version of the story I'm working on. P.M. me, and I can give you access to a 70% story for world building inputs/requests.
