Optional boss fights · 5:49am Apr 24th, 2017
I have recently started playing Final Fantasy 15 again, and it made me think of my Final Fantasy crossover fanfic. This brings me to the subject of optional bosses. A lot of Final Fantasy's have them, and so will my fanfic. I mean, I plan on treating this very similar to the games, so I figured some optional side quests will be perfect. As for optional bosses, two that I know I am having are Gilgamesh, who is an optional boss in most Final Fantasy's, and Arabus from the G1 episode Bright Lights. That's all I have so far, but I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for optional bosses, be they from Final Fantasy or MLP FIM. I'm open to suggestions.
Ultros would be a decent comedic based optional boss.
And it wouldn't be a Final Fantasy without an Ultima or Omega weapon.
If the Summoner is a class in your story high-end/end game summons are a must.
Maybe Sephiroth, Kefka, and Kuja in some form, imagine Sephiroth the one winged alicorn or Kefka an insane evil Pinkie Pie type individual.
Hell you could have Grahf be an ancient suit of armor possessed by his lingering hatred and angry like the Lingering will in kingdom hearts 2.5.
That's all I can think of at the moment, hope these helps.
4508061 You know? Funny enough, I plan on Ultros being a boss fight within the game. It's mostly comedic with him hitting on Firefly and Arlet. Well he claims he is joking in Arlet's case. He is beaten but survives. I was thinking he could come end game where he brings his big friend Squirk who was a G1 villain.
I could probably bring in Ultima Weapon. He would probably be akin to Ozma from FF9 in terms of difficulty and placement in the game. I could probably have him as an ancient creature imprisoned in Tartarus.
As for summons. Well, technically each of the characters possesses a summon.
I also may have other optional fights earlier in the fic. Like for example, one quest cold involve the party arriving in a town where a rich pony has lost their pet Marlboro Carrot. Carrot is kind of a staple of FF games set in Ivalice.
Thanks for the suggestion.
It might be hard. But maybe a dragon hunt?
