Flash Notion

The hardest part about writing is that nothing you make is ever as good on the page as it was inside your head... but other people don't know that, so we worry over nothing.

    Jinglemas 2022

Hello. Been a while. So I signed up for this thing, as a way to get back to writing. There's still a bit of time left for the .5 of you who bother reading these posts but somehow aren't aware of one of the bigger site-wide events to sign up for it. Happy holidays!

I LIVE!!!! (and so does this thing...)

I'm not here to give another life update. Suffice to say, I've about given up on keeping myself "together". I'll try and get stories out, but I make no promises about when or what or anything.

But, for those who still care:
Beanis is back! Remember the beans? Majin does. Go give him the usual love/hate.

Only a couple hours to go (for me)

    So. 2020 is almost over.

This... certainly has been a year. Lots of bad things happened. Lots of bad things are going to continue happening.

I don't want to dwell on it.

Instead, I'd like to take the time to reflect on some of the good things that I experienced this year. In no particular order.

    Smol Update

December is here, the stores are playing Silver Bells, and this site's Jinglemas 2020 event has officially started.

I've gotten my prompt and made my outline. I just need to buckle down and write the thing.

May
15th
2017

I just finished watching Fate of the Furious · 1:05am May 15th, 2017

and it was well worth the 2 hours it took.

There are 3 scenes that really stood out to me. The first is the remote-controlled cars scene, where they were moving through the streets like a freaking buffalo stampede. It was crazy, and awesome, and really inventive. I wish Transformers could do something similar, have an army of Decepticons tear down a road in vehicle form. Now that would be scary.
The second was the scene where the whole team used their cars to shield Dom from the sub exploding. That part brought a smile and a fist-pump.
And finally, the fight scene(s) on the airplane between Deckard and all of the mooks. He was almost adorable, the way he kept talking to the baby- Brian. And he earns a lot of cred for going through the entire fight while protecting a small, fragile human being. The crowning moment is of course when a mook was unfortunate enough to point his weapon right at the kid, and Deckard got pissed off and started beating the crap out of him- after turning Brian's seat the other way. Meanwhile, the kid's got this hilariously spaced out "I don't know what's happening but it's awesome" look on his face, probably the same look the audience had.

About the only thing I didn't like- eh,you know what, forget it. Any grievances I could bring up would be petty and not worth my time. I'll leave it to people like CinemaSins to do that.
