    Shifting covers for shifting sands

Many of you may be wondering what is taking so long for the next update. Sadly, life causes all kinds of interruptions. I was recently hired to work at a location some sixty miles from where I currently reside, and thus travel and work have taken a huge bite out of the time I have available to do fun things like write and game.

    Starlight's Shifting Sands status update

I know this story is one that a good number of people have been enjoying so far, and I want to assuage any panic immediately due to the long break since the most recent chapter: this story will be continuing soon.

This is the fifth time my computer has failed to save this chapter...

I'm getting quite sick of this happening. Sorry about the absolutely massive delay.

    New delays

I do once again apologize for the lack of timely updates. Part of this has to do with the recent heat wave weather sapping all of my energy in my free time.

    Future plans...

So, in addition to my plans for each independent sapient race to have a zerg hive corruption event (ponies count as one race regardless of subtype) I have ambitious plans to introduce transformers elements as another factor of setting mythos, and I'm going to start BIG with 'Five Ancient Colossi:'

    The Iron Bulette. (Rippersnapper)
    The Bone Roc. (Cutthroat)
    The Gold Orthos. (Sinnertwin)

Delays · 3:21pm May 25th, 2017

I do want to apologize for the delay in getting the next few chapters of this story up.

I blame wanting to use the first crossover with an author to do more than just infodump on Liz and Sarah about what being displaced means, collaborating with an author whose character I have enjoyed reading about, and getting caught up in the writing to the tune of some 16k words before I do an editing sweep to correct minor things like present versus past tense.

Yeah, 16k. We kinda got caught up in the writing, which took a full three of my days off from work to do. I still have at least one chapter to write before I hit publish on that, though, and two isn't out of the question.

The good news is that we both had fun with it, and there's a high likelihood of working together again in the future. No spoilers here for anything. You read it when it's published.

Just don't for get about us reads please and do not devolve your story to the point where is requires the cross-overs to actually exist and advance like so many others have become please!

4546408 Required to exist and advance? Kill that thought in the crib, since it's clearly too late to abort.

The primary focus of the crossover was solving a problem that neither character had the knowledge to do on their own considering their medical backgrounds: creating a reusable repair station for Liz and figuring out why she can't transform.

Zerg don't do technology, and knowing the lore hardly means one knows the schematics.

If the crossover is with who I think it's with, cool. (Again assuming I'm right, I edit for him and he told me about it. :pinkiehappy: )

4546593 Well, I only had one on the works... keep it quiet, please. Contain your excitement.
