Introduction! · 4:22am Jun 19th, 2017
I figured I should introduce myself. I'm a girl, 24 years old (I turn 25 on November 9th) and am graduating from college with a Major in the Arts and a Minor in Digital Journalism. I'll be re-applying to go back for a Major in English, though. I'm straight and currently taken, though I am not exactly sure for how long. Hopefully permanently. But I've got a really bad past experience where a fellow brony stayed with me for seven years before ditching me for my only girl friend who also liked MLP:FiM. So, I'm timid both about relationships and the MLP:FiM fandom... It honestly took a leap of faith for me to convince myself to join this site and I hope my experience here goes well.
I'm also asexual and demiheterosexual, which means I have difficulty with doing a lot of "lovey" stuff at first and that I am attracted to intelligent guys. I also have Asperger's Syndrome, so I'm super awkward in social situations unless people crack my shell of shyness. I socialize best online.
Since I was a little girl, I've also been into anime, manga and video games. I've also been a huge fan of Walt Disney, Pixar, Tim Burton and Osamu Tezuka for a long time and only just recently realized that I have also been a fan of Lauren Faust's, possibly for just as long as I have been a fan of Disney stuff. (I was born in 1992, so I grew up on some of her earliest works, like Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls and I LOVE them!)
I am into way too many things to list entirely, so I'll just do a short list.
Favorite non-animated film: Edward Scissorhands
Favorite animated non-Disney film: Tough one... Probably a competition between "Anastasia" and "The Corpse Bride" or something... Or maybe "James & The Giant Peach". YES, I know that that last one is OWNED by Disney, but it just never felt like a "Disney" film.
Favorite non-Disney Princess films: "Wreck-It Ralph", "Lilo & Stitch", "Brother Bear", "Hercules", "Tarzan", "The Emperor's New Groove" and "An Extremely Goofy Movie".
Favorite Disney Princess films: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "The Little Mermaid", "Mulan", "Beauty and the Beast", "Tangled" and... NEW to my list, "The Princess & The Frog".
Heroes: Walter Elias Disney, Timothy William Burton, Jim Henson, Osamu Tezuka
Sign (though I'm sure it doesn't much matter) : Scorpio... On the Chinese Zodiac, however, I'm a monkey.
Preferred music: Rock, metal, pop, R&B, hiphop, some rap, country (especially older country) and childhood TV cartoon opening songs, anime included
FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE: Halloween music
Favorite holiday: Halloween
Favorite things to research: Halloween history and science explaining the paranormal
Favorite book series: Harry Potter, Redwall, The Looking Glass Wars, The Inheritance Cycle, Ms. Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, Fablehaven
Favorite animes: Astro Boy, Black Jack, Speed Racer (Mach Go Go Go), Death Note, InuYasha, Chii's Sweet Home, Lil Pri, Shirokuma Cafe, Orenji no Furo Jijou, Samurai Bakumatsu ROCK. There have been more over the years, but I don't want to make a huuuuuuge list. Astro Boy is my #1, though.
Favorite manga: Astro Boy, WISH, Death Note, Hitomi-sensei No Hokenshitsu (Nurse Hitomi's Monster Infirmary)... and more.
Favorite Western style cartoon series: Beetlejuice: The Animated Series, MLP:FiM, Invader Zim, Goof Troop, Rugrats, Aaahhh!!! Real Monsters, Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff Girls, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (AKA Grim & Evil), Ruby Gloom... again, there is more, but I don't want to make a long list.
I also enjoy doing cosplay and going to anime conventions. In fact, I actually just met Aurelio Voltaire, one of my favorite gothic singers AND a VA in Billy & Mandy, about a year ago at a couple of cons and he was such an awesome guy to hang out with!
